The Amazing Race official site posts a weekly video series featuring Phil Keoghan’s behind the scenes video diary. Phil previously shared his favorite customs and foods from Japan and china. His latest video entries give viewers a glimpse of India and Austria.
When the racers arrived in Kolkata, India, Phil and the production team arrived around 3 am. Phil pointed out how empty the streets were, but they were full of cars by daybreak. He goes onto say how much he loves when the race goes to India. At the Pit Stop location, Phil is seen playing cricket with local children up until he breaks his bat.
For the next episode, Phil and the production crew traveled to Varanasi, India. Phil took some time to stroll the Ganges river and check out the vegetable stalls. Phil is seen relaxing between filming segments, and he remarks that he likes being on the river.
For the most recent episode, Phil traveled to Vienna, Austria. Phil points out how different the weather is from India. He is seen walking through one of Vienna’s Christmas markets, and then riding on a horse-drawn carriage. In between filming segments for the detours, he is seen enjoying a Wiener schnitzel at the Wiener Riesenrad. It is too bad he could not pitch in and help the teams who had trouble finishing their food in the “Quick and Easy Meal” roadblock.
Phil and the racers will head to Switzerland this week. Tune in to The Amazing Race this Sunday and check out Phil’s own point of view in his video diary online.
