Dancing with the Stars Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas have become one of the highest scoring pairs this season. They have been known for taking risks and infusing modern moves into the traditional dances. Chelsea is now revealing their plans for this week’s guilty pleasure dance.
Chelsea spoke with TV Guide and revealed what she and Mark have up their sleeve for this week. “Well, we have one of those hilarious songs that no one wants to admit that they sing at the top of their lungs. This song came out before I was born in 1988. I didn’t pick it as one of my guilty pleasures, but I can definitely relate to probably what most of America thinks when they hear this song. But the routine is a completely different story from the song. It’s going in the vein of being young and carefree. I think it will be cute. The thing I love about being partnered with Mark is that he always wants to tell a story with his dances. There’s always some sort of theme or character to play.
Chelsea talked about her dancing plan for the guilty pleasures week. “We’re going traditional. We’re being very well-behaved! With the quickstep, the entire dance is also in hold, which is a challenge for both of us. I want to say it’s one of the most proper forms of ballroom because you’re not allowed to let go of each other. That just contradicts my and Mark’s personalities completely because we love to break apart. I think we won’t get into any trouble this week for bending or breaking the rules because we’re being 100 percent traditional.”
Even though Chelsea and Mark are one of the highest scoring couples this season, she knows that anything could happen when it comes to elimination. “Mark and I definitely had one of those moments where we thought our encore dance was our last dance. We are not cocky at all. I think everyone is so talented and it’s anybody’s game. I was watching the season Mark and Sabrina Bryan got eliminated, which is this week we’re going into. That scared me because we both come from Disney. It showed how much of it is voting-based. The Disney fans are some of the greatest fans in the world. I’ve seen them crash websites and boards for the Jonas Brothers. At the same time, they’re kids. They could have parents who don’t let them watch the show or they have homework or have to go to bed because it’s a school night. You definitely go through those fears.”
