Survivor: Fabio’s Homoerotic Horror Film Now On DVD

April 26, 2011 10:00 AM by Ryan Haidet

Judson “Fabio” Birza, the winner of Survivor: Nicaragua, can now say he’s an actor.  The winner of the 21st edition of Survivor is one of the stars in a horror movie unleashed on DVD today after multiple release delays — “1313: Nightmare Mansion.”  But just like Survivor, there’s a twist with this story.  This movie isn’t your run-of-the-mill slasher flick or monster pic.  It’s homoerotic horror featuring Fabio running around in nothing but tighty-whities throughout the movie along with several other men who are barely clothed.

The synopsis of the film is as follows:  “‘In 1313: Nightmare Mansion,’ a demonic young man lures his high school classmates to a party so that he can sacrifice their souls and bring his dead mother, killed during the Salem witch trials 300 years ago, back to life.”

Doesn’t sound so homoerotic, right?

One view of the trailer (see below) will have you thinking otherwise.  In the short 2:21 preview, several guys are seen only wearing white briefs as one of the stars softly touches his own chest while sitting poolside.  If that wasn’t enough, the trailer also shows two of the male characters — again only wearing briefs — softly caressing each other.  Fabio is also depicted licking a knife in a way that appears to be very sexual.

The trailer shows just one woman in the film who is sandwiched between two men in one scene as they stand in a hot tub together for an intimate moment.  She’s even the central focus of the movie poster (see below).  Ironically, the film is subtitled as, “A supernatural thriller for girls!”  I don’t know many women who would want to watch a movie with men appearing to be sexually interested in other men.  Do you?

The movie, which is the first in a series of “1313″ films, is directed by David DeCoteau.  He is no stranger to making movies like this one.  His filmography includes multiple flicks — like the “Brotherhood” horror series — in which young men are often shirtless and barely dressed for long periods of time.  See the trailer below for “The Brotherhood VI: The Initiation.”

If you’re interested in the movie, you can order your own copy of the DVD today at www.tlagay.com.  Retail price is listed at $14.99.  The site says there are three reasons to buy the movie.  1.  “We can never resist a new gay horror flick from cult director David DeCoteau.”  2.  “Young Survivor: Nicaragua winner Judson Birza struts around this movie in just a tiny pair of briefs!”  3.  “He’s not the only one — there are plenty of other hot, young twinks exposing all but what is contained in their tighty-whities.”  So much for being the supernatural thriller for girls, huh?

In case you forgot, Fabio became the youngest person to ever win Survivor at the age of 21.  He was the 12th male to take the title after he beat Sash and Chase in the final three.  Fabio was awarded the $1 million prize last December in Los Angeles.

Fabio was known for his goofy, surfer-style antics while he was a contestant on the show.  Check out my red carpet interview with Fabio just moments after he was crowned the winner:

about the director’s “for girls” thing… i can see where he’s coming from because liking boyXboy stories/movies is not an uncommon thing for girls…especially in asia. these are usually created by girls though so the appeal is that it the stories have more romance and sensitive characters (plus attractive guys). anyway this movie doesn’t look good because it seems very low budget. o_o

Is it just me or is his name misspelled on the poster? Looks like Bizra instead of Birza.
