The latest season of Dancing with the Stars has become known for unfortunate mishaps. Both Kirstie Alley and Ralph Macchio have survived accidents in their live routines. Now their professional partners Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are offering an explanation-a possible jinx.
After tripping over Ralph’s coat during their paso doble, Karina told People Magazine that the incident “was disappointing, because it was such an awesome routine and Ralph was doing such an awesome job. I think the floor is jinxed.”
Maks thinks that Karina might be onto something. He fell during his rumba due to a muscle sprain with Kirstie. Maks points out a strange pattern developing in the ballroom. “The spot where Karina fell is where everybody has fallen. This is where Misty May Treanor fell, Marie Osmond fainted, we fell, they fell tonight.”
Kirstie Alley offers another explanation for all the falls. “I think Tom Bergeron is the one making everyone fall. If you look closely I think you will probably see the shenanigans he’s up to when we’re not on the dance floor. Always go for the nice guy. Always.”
In addition to the falls, other mishaps this season include Kirstie losing a shoe during a live performance and Mark Ballas twisting his ankle during dress rehearsals. The ballroom floor is shaping up to having its own dancing Bermuda Triangle! Let’s hope our performers don’t have any further accidents this season. Meanwhile, the dancers might want to watch their backs when host Tom is lurking about.
