With American Idol on FOX inching closer to the finale as the top five will be revealed tonight, former contestant, Frenchie Davis is getting a “save” of her own with a second chance to win us over on NBC’s new singing competition, The Voice. Keep reading for more details!
American Idol season two contestant Frenchie Davis had just begun to win over the hearts of America when some of the crooner’s topless photos surfaced, disqualifying her from the competition. The fact that she had topless photos taken early on in her career did not go over well with “family friendly” Idol and they let her go from the competition. But now, eight years later Frenchie Davis is getting a second chance to showcase her talent on NBC’s new singing competition, The Voice.
In it’s premiere episode this week, The Voice took on blind auditions, where the judges could not see who was singing, but had to choose the contestants on only their voice. As Frenchie performed “I Kissed A Girl” by Katy Perry it appeared that maybe no wanted her, but then Christina Aguilera hit her button choosing Frenchie. As it turned out Frenchie was immediately recognized by Cee Lo Green as she was revealed. When the chairs turned Cee Lo Green said “What up, Frenchie?” to which she replied “You know who I am?” looking a bit shocked and excited.
