American Idol: Top Six Live Results!

April 28, 2011 05:58 PM by Lisa Princ

American Idol on FOX is back tonight with the live results of last night’s performances of Carole King songs. We also got to see performances by season nine runner up, Crystal Bowersox as well as Bruno Mars. Keep reading to find out which finalist was sent packing tonight!

American Idol’s live results show kicks of tonight as Ryan Seacrest told us that we would be very disappointing with the results this week and then he focused in on Steven Tyler, who has been spotlighted on in a few magazines this week. We also got to see the top six get a crash course on England as they attended a British party in light of the Royal Wedding tomorrow and then the top six performed a Carole King medley.

Then it was time for the Ford music video on the American Idol top six live results show followed by a performance of “Ridin’ With The Radio” by season nine runner up Crystal Bowersox. Then Ryan took some viewer questions for the finalists starting with Casey asking him who he would duet with if he could with anyone in the world in which he answered Oscar Peterson. After Jacob talked about finding his range at a young age, Lauren was asked what the hardest part of being a finalist was to which she replied with being away from friends and family.

Scotty had to dish about his past jobs such as working at his mom’s tanning salon. James was then asked if he played in any bands prior to the show and he informed us that he has played in a few in the past. Haley then answered her question about who her favorite past idol was and Adam Lambert got her props before she rambled on about other contestants. Finally it was time for some results and Haley Reinhart was called up to the stage first and told that she was safe.

Scotty McCreery was up next and after reviewing his performance from last night Scotty was told to wait a few more minutes for his results and then Ryan called up Lauren Alaina to review her performances in which Lauren admitted she needed to stop hearing only the negative critique and then Ryan sent her off to wait also. Casey was called up next and reviewed and sent to the couch to wait while James Durbin was sent to safety after his review. Lastly, Jacob Lusk was up for review and then Scotty, Lauren, and Casey were called up to join Jacob and Lauren was sent to safety.

That left Scotty McCreery, Jacob Lusk and Casey Abrams nervously awaiting their results. After a commercial break American Idol was back with a performance of “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars and then finally after what seemed like the most dragged out hour ever we would get some more results. Jacob was the first one sent back to safety leaving Scotty and Casey standing nervously, Ryan announced that the finalist leaving tonight would be Casey Abrams!
Best of luck to Casey, we will all miss your humor from now on!

LOL – America! What a country! The only real musician out there and the shallow, lazy minded idiots choose a bunch of flash in the pan one and done Disney like singers. LOL LOL LOL The only reason I DVR’d this thing was to watch this guy create something of substance each week.

I will never understand why Jacob stayed this time….i guess his real talent is something other than singing..that is why he got the votes…sad that someone votes for other reasons!

I cannot not believe this bull $hit, it should be Jacob that goes home and/or Lauren, not Casey, this only shows how ignorant the American voters are.
