Celebrity Apprentice star and possible presidential candidate Donald Trump may still be fuming about Jerry Seinfeld‘s decision to cancel an upcoming appearance for his son’s charity, but the Marriage Ref producer had only great things to say about Trump, putting an end to their high-profile feud…sort of.
When Donald Trump got word that Jerry Seinfeld pulled out of his son’s charity event because of comments he made about President Obama’s citizenship, Trump sent an angry letter to the comedian, blasting not only his decision to cancel, but his NBC show The Marriage Ref. Donald Trump argued that he agreed to go on The Marriage Ref despite the fact that he felt it was a “failed show,” and that Jerry should have kept his word as well.
But Seinfeld isn’t upset with Trump’s letter or the things he said about his reality series. Jerry’s actually hoping to see more of the Donald; a lot more!
“I love Donald Trump,” Seinfeld told Extra‘s AJ Calloway. “All comedians love Donald Trump. If God gave comedians the power to invent people, the first person we would invent is Donald trump.”
And he’s not alone.
Earlier in the week, both Jon Stewart and Jason Jones of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show expressed how much they want Donald Trump to run for office in 2012 — for the sake of comedy, not the country.
Who knows … If Trump’s poll numbers continue to rise, they just may get their wish.
Celebrity Apprentice airs Sundays at 9|8c on NBC. The Marriage Ref is set to premiere Sunday, June 26 at 10|9c.
