Dancing With The Stars: Week Seven Results

May 03, 2011 07:13 PM by Allyson Wells

Last night on Dancing with the Stars it was double the dances and double the pressure. Ralph Macchio came back to join consistent Hines Ward at the top of the leader board. Romeo and Kirstie Alley came crashing down to tie at the bottom. After the celebration of ballroom greats, who will find their dancing journey has ended?

Len reveals the judges’ choice for an encore performance was not an easy one. They choose the Team Chelsea Dance featuring Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas, Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff and Romeo and Chelsie Hightower.

One of the top scorers Hines Ward and Kym Johnson await their fate with one of the bottom scorers, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Backstage footage reveals that Hines almost did a full split at the end of his performance. Maks gives Kirstie a pep talk right before they start and urges her to give high energy. At the end he tells her she was trying to act and he wants her to dance. She apologizes to him but does remark that she did have the time of her life. Tom Bergeron reveals that Hines and Kym are definitely safe. He tells Kirstie and Maks they are in jeopardy and will have to await their fate.

Backstage with Brooke, Ralph tells her that he will keep working hard to try and drive to the finals. Chelsea doesn’t feel that they pushed it too much and always want to take risks. Hines hopes he can keep up mentally for the double dances next week. Kirstie hopes she hasn’t made one mistake too many. Maks jokes that he has no idea how they will cope with the two dances.

Grammy nominated artist Nicki Menaj performs her song “Moment for life.” Lacey Schwimmer and Chelsie Hightower perform a dance along to the song.

A segment called “Dance has the power to change lives” is shown. Patricia Zhou is the newest member to the Royal Ballet of London. She started ballet at the very late age of 13. In four years, her instructors feel she is on her way to be the Michael Jordan of ballet because she is so gifted. She hopes her performance will inspire others to go after their dreams. Priscilla Ann performs “Dream” while Patricia makes her television debut. Patricia is such a beautiful dancer. She also has some acrobatic Cirque-inspired moves. I can’t believe she has only been dancing four years. I wish I could do that!

The other highest scoring couple, Ralph and Karina take the stage with third place couple Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas. Backstage footage shows Ralph is in physical pain but wants to kick butt. He gets congratulations from Hines. Chelsea is happy to get through the dance but an angry Mark is confused by their scores. He is shown arguing with Len after their performance and Mark claims he has no idea how to please him. Len argues that he gave one of his highest scores to Chelsea and doesn’t know what Mark is moaning about. Tom announces that Ralph and Karina are safe. He then tells Chelsea and Mark that they are still in jeopardy, which generates boos from the audience.

Brooke chats backstage with Romeo and Chelsie and Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel. Romeo wishes he did not have to take a day off this week, but says there was no way around it. A jittery Kendra says she is nervous and her heart is thumping out of her chest.

The Macys Stars of Dance pay tribute to James Brown. Emmy winner Wayne Brady begins the dance singing “It’s a Man’s World.” I love the suspenders that the guys are wearing. Wayne is not just a great singer, but a great dancer! This is a nice tribute to the Godfather of Soul. His family in the audience loves it.

A segment airs where the stars sit down with their professional partners to hear what they need to do to make it to the finals. Chelsie tells Romeo he needs to make this show his priority. Karina tells Ralph he needs to work on being sexy. Kym thinks Hines stresses himself out too much and needs to let go. Kendra doesn’t like taking it easy and wants to go somewhere she has never been, which pleases Louis. Kirstie loves how Maks pushes her but wants him to validate her more. He jokes he probably won’t do that. Chelsea wants to keep things fun to turn around the hard times. Maks tells Kirstie her personality should shine through because it is her strength. Karina thinks Ralph can create a story within the dance. Kym loves Hines’ footwork. Louis tells Kendra the work load is going to be more intense, as Mark tells Chelsea the work load is going to triple. All of the stars want to do whatever it takes to make it to the finals.

Five time Grammy nominee James Blunt sings his new single, “I’ll Be Your Man.” Latin ballroom dancing champions perform a dance to the song. Some of you might recall that James Blunt is the ex-boyfriend of recently eliminated supermodel Petra Nemcova.

The remaining two couples, Romeo and Chelsie and Kendra and Louis go to the stage. Kyle Massey is seen telling Romeo the judges robbed him, but he promises he is going to work harder. Louis tells Kendra he is proud of her and gives her a little kiss on her cheek. Kendra asserts that she doesn’t want her journey to end. The next couple revealed to be safe is Romeo and Chelsie. Brooke tells Kendra and Louis that they are still in jeopardy. Tom asks Romeo if he thought he was going home, because his face showed fear.

The bottom three couples, Chelsea and Mark, Kendra and Louis and Kirstie and Maks return to the stage to learn who is eliminated. Len wants Kirstie to become more consistent. He notes Kendra is a late bloomer. He will be shocked if Chelsea is not back, as she is one of the most talented ladies on the show. Brooke announces the next couple that is safe is Kirstie and Maks. Tom reveals that Kendra and Louis are eliminated. Brooke tells Kendra it has been amazing to watch her transformation. Kendra is proud for lasting so long. She thanks Louis for sticking with her. She thanks her husband Hank and baby Hank. She tells them she is coming home for them. Louis feels good for finishing on such a high and tells Kendra he loves her. When they go to the dance floor for their final dance, Kendra does her famous shake.
