The Biggest Loser on NBC is back tonight with makeover week. This week, the remaining five contestants are surprised to see a horse drawn carriage bringing in none other than fashion guru Tim Gunn, who helps them pick out new looks for their makeovers. Tim tells them that he is like their fairy Godmother and he will grant them 3 wishes, starting with the makeovers. Next they are sent off to the salon of Hollywood hairdresser Ken Paves, who has created hairstyles for Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Lady Ga Ga, Celine Dion, Fergie, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, and many other celebrities. Once they are done with their hair, they hop into a horse drawn carriage one by one to go see their loved ones unbeknownst to them.
Once they arrive back at the ranch, it is renovated to look like a castle and as they each step out of the carriage, Tim takes them to see their family member, telling them that their second wish has been granted. Hannah is the first one to arrive and she looks just gorgeous donning a green gown and a new, shorter, blonde hairstyle. Hannah is greeted by her father who couldn’t be more surprised or proud of his daughter. Then we saw Olivia, who arrived in a beautiful silver gown with a hot, new, short hairdo which blows her husband away. Coincidentally, Olivia’s husband has also lost some weight at home and the pair have an emotional reunion.
The guys are up next and both look amazing in their black tie suits. Austin’s mother is stunned to see how incredible her son looks, while Jay’s son is so proud of his father and all he has accomplished. Last but not least is Irene, our biggest loser as far as the women go on the ranch. Irene shows up to surprise her mom donning a beautiful pink gown with a very stylist haircut and highlights. Irene was a bit emotional as she told us how much she was a “girly” girl and this would have been her childhood fairytale until she gained all the weight and she had lost interest in such girly things. Finally, all of the contestants were brought into the ranch, or castle for the evening for a dance and celebration to a live performance by One Republic, where they are reflected on their journeys.
But we couldn’t have a week without a challenge now could we? This week the final five would be digging through sandcastles, or sand cars looking for the right set of keys to a brand new Mazda 5 – or actually two of them. The hard part? After finding the keys they would have take them all the way down the boardwalk to try them out…oh and not to mention there were 50 sets buried in the sand! On their first try, none of the keys worked, but on the very next try, Irene found a winning set and ended up with one of the cars which she plans to give to her mom. The second car would prove to be much harder to win as it came when there were only two sets of keys left. Olivia took her time deciding which set to dig up and she chose the correct set, winning her the second car.
Of course The Biggest Loser had to have a last chance workout with the trainers as well as a weigh in, despite the fact that it was makeover week. After a grueling last chance workout with some worried trainers – or at least Bob Harper was worried about the weigh in, here is how the final five fared this week:
243 to 236 for a total loss of 7 lbs (2.88%)
162 to 158 lbs for a total loss of 4 lbs * hit the 100 lb mark this week
154 to 152 for a total loss of 2 lbs (1.3%)
156 to 154 for a total loss of 2 lbs (1.28%)
258 to 255 for a total loss of 3 lbs (1.16%)
So just as Alison was telling Jay and Hannah that they would both be below the yellow line and one would be going home tonight, Tim Gunn reappeared just like a fairy Godmother. With the swing of his magic wand, Tim Gunn made the yellow line disappear and then announced that no one was going home tonight!
With that in mind, Olivia, who promised us a song on the scale when she hit 100 lbs, decided to perform an Opera number for us in which she explains was from a part that she was never cast in due to her weight – but she was determined to get that part one day! What a perfect ending to a fairytale evening. However, next week someone will be going home as the final four will be announced since that is our last episode before the finale! Be sure to tune in tonight at 8 pm EST for this brand new episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC!
