American Idol: Adam Lambert Reveals His Favorite Top Four Contestant

May 09, 2011 08:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Who can forget season eight runner up of American Idol on FOX, Adam Lambert? Adam was probably one of the most memorable finalists on the show and now he is sharing his thoughts on which top four finalist this season is his favorite. Keep reading as you may be surprised to learn which finalist it is!

Despite the fact that they are constantly being compared, American Idol season eight runner up Adam Lambert has not chosen current contestant and rocker James Durbin as his favorite finalist. In fact, Adam recently revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that his favorite contestant of season ten is Haley Reinhart!

Adam told the gossip site “It’s incredible how Haley makes it look so easy and effortless. Plus, she’s having fun up there. I don’t feel like she’s working so hard to prove herself or to prove a point. She’s just singing and taking joy in music.”

He even took some time to send Haley a Tweet after he watched the performances recently as he posted “@HReinhartAI10 just watched the TiVo of idol last night. That was the SEXIEST thing EVER on idol. Saaaaaaaang!!!”

Haley Reinhart has finally come out in this season of the show after weeks of being in the bottom, but does she have what it takes to win? Only time will tell as we only have a few weeks left until the finale, at least we know that Adam Lambert will be voting for her!

Do you think of Adam’s choice? Comment and share your thoughts with us – we’d love to hear from you. Then be sure to tune in next week to see the top four performances!

I would love to see Ghosthunters/TAPS or one of their West Coast affiliates do an investigation at the Idol mansion to see if it is really haunted and (depending on the owner’s wishes, naturally) publish their findings. It would be interesting to find out. As for who wins this contest, it is my opinion that ghosts are more interesting than the current batch.

I chose Haley a few weeks back as a favorite of mine. I’ve noticed a lot of music bloggers like MTV, EW etc also think Haley is the best of the bunch. Scotty has a nice tone to his voice too and Lauren does really well when she hits her stride. I’m not sure how James made it as far as he did. Vocally he’s by far the worst of the bunch. I don’t think I have heard him do one song without going off key. I wonder if it’s because the viewers are so distracted by the production that the producers set up for him ie marching band, flaming piano etc. that they don’t notice how off tune he is. I think the viewers forget that it is the producers setting up the stage. That is not James. James should be judged on vocals – which are weak at best.

Adam Lambert, a 2011 Grammy Award nominee, has a great ear and certainly knows a lot about stage presence. His sold out Glam Nation Tour in 16 countries last summer and fall attest to that. Haley Reinhart has a very nice voice and looks good on stage and on photographs.

I agree with Adam’s choice.I think Haley’s rendition of House of the Rising Sun was the best performance of the season. In the beginning I didn’t care for her jazz style, but she has a voice and can be more mainstream. Laura Alaina is my 2nd choice. She is an up and coming Carrie Underwood, Scotty is too country and will be just fine in Nashville. James will be fine too in heavy metal, but is pitchy and I don’t see him as the American Idol.

Scotty is my favorite…in fact he’s the only one I like. James reminds me too much of Adam.. I’m not a big fan of high notes. To me when someone is singing an octave that is really high, it sounds like screaming. Maybe I have sensitive ears and can’t apreciate the beauty of the James and Adams high notes.

Who cares what Adam Lambert thinks? I hate him and his singing anyway. So, America is supposed to vote for Haley because Adam likes her?

I’ve been trying to come to terms with this information about Adam liking Haley’s performances the best, for some time now. :( I think it is James.

Adam is my all-time favorite American Idol performer and has the best voice of anyone I have every heard. His range is incredible and while some people say he “screams”, his “screams” are the most melodic screams ever! Unfortunately, I don’t agree with his choice on Idol this season. I prefer James. Scotty is too limited, though I predict a long and successful future for him in country music. Lorin Alaina just doesn’t trip my trigger. Nothing she has sung so far has given me the chills or goose bumps. Haley has the best voice over all, but she needs self confidence. After she sings she always gets this look of “Did you like it? Huh? Huh?”. I love James for lots of reasons. He’s a great performer, I love his voice. He has that true rocker voice that doesn’t NEED to be on key every second. His voice has character. I hope he wins, but I’m afraid it’s going to be Scotty….

I would put James 4th in this competition. I agree that he’s often off key and would appeal to a very select audience. It has become rather obvous that AI is courting & supporting him to win. Tonight he opens and closes the show. It makes me want the others to win even more.

Lauren will win American Idol 2011, as she has an amazing voice and is very well liked. She looks like an American Idol. Scotty will be 2nd, because of his country vocals, and Haley will be ousted this week because she is a brat and annoying and does not like criticism. Oh and she can not sing—she screams.
