The Biggest Loser: And The Final Four Are….

May 10, 2011 07:40 PM by Lisa Princ

Last week on The Biggest Loser on NBC it was makeover week and this week it’s finals week as the final four are revealed tonight. Keep reading to find out who makes it into the final four and what has Jillian Michaels swearing at the weigh in this week!

The Biggest Loser on NBC is back tonight with finals week. To start off finals week for the contestants, Ali informs the remaining five contestants that they are going to take final exams with each one of the trainers. For each exam they will get scored just like a regular test and the person with the highest score at the end of the week with receive $10k. First up for the exams is Bob Harper, who decides to test the contestants on his spin bike – the trick is that the contestants must teach him how to spin as if he were new to the gym. Right off the bat Irene blows it as she can’t seem to remember certain aspects, while Olivia flies to the head of the class with her instruction. Jay is probably the worst student in Bob’s class as he tells Bob to take the seat off the bike – huh? Hannah and Austin both did well on Bob’s exam also.

Next up for the exams is Brett, who looks charming in his glasses and professor’s attire – he is actually doing mental testing as he says this is what he has been training them on all along. Brett gives the contestants a series of exercise and nutrition related questions and everyone seems to do good on his exam with the exception of Hannah who doesn’t even know of the terms Brett is using. Then it’s Cara’s turn and her exam takes the contestants to the boxing ring – big shock there. Cara tells them that the first rule is poker face, with no laughing or giggling and she tries to bully them. Cara is amazed at how mentally strong Olivia is, but wishes her sister Hannah could do without the giggling and smiling during the exam.

Last up for the exams is Jillian Michaels, who decides that she is also going to test their mental and emotional strength as she is playing the emotionally defeated contestant who needs the trainer’s heart to heart. Jillian is amazed at how well the contestants advise her, especially Hannah but that is probably because Hannah has been playing victim all season long. She was not as impressed with Olivia, but the others seem to do a good job playing her (and the other trainers). But the exams did not stop there as Ali also had the contestants do a video game workout, with avatars created after themselves. Hannah came in first for this exam with Olivia right behind her, pushing Olivia into the winning spot for most points of all the exams total and giving her $10k.

But the remaining five had more challenges ahead of them. The first was the subway challenge where Brett took them to a local subway and explained to them everything about one of their chicken sandwiches in order to see who was paying attention, while teaching them that they could get a delicious, low calorie lunch on the run. When asked how many calories the sandwich contained, Hannah got the correct answer and won herself a $500 Subway gift card.

Then it was time for their endurance challenge on The Biggest Loser and this time the contestants would have to climb stairs, but not any old stairs. These were high stairs that they would have stack sandbags on to climb up each one. The first person to get to the fifth and final stair would win a 1 lb advantage at the weigh in this week. This challenge was a close one between Olivia, Austin and Irene with Hannah and Jay left behind, Hannah complaining of back issues. Austin was able to pull ahead though and come out with the win, despite Olivia’s best effort to beat him.

Then it was a last chance workout with the trainers before the headed to the weigh in. This weigh was different though as Ali decided to give both challenge winners a choice. Olivia was told that she could trade her $10k for a 1 lb advantage and Austin was offered $10k for his 1 lb. But both players decided to stick with what they were given and Jillian nearly had a fit on Olivia, thinking it was the dumbest thing Olivia could have done – they even had to bleep out some of Jillian’s words! This is how the contestants fared at the weigh in:

236 to 235 for a total loss of 1 lbs (.85%)

158 to 153 lbs for a total loss of 5 lbs (3.16%)

152 to 147 for a total loss of 5 lbs (3.29%)

154 to 150 for a total loss of 4 lbs (2.6%)

255 to 246 for a total loss of 9 lbs (3.53%)

With that in mind, it was Austin and Hannah below the yellow line. Austin was in tears because he knew no one would save him and he was headed home. This was also a blow to both Brett and Cara as Austin was the last original member of their fitness ridge team. When it was time to tally up the votes, Olivia was up first and she was voting for Austin to go home obviously, followed by Jay who also could not vote for Hannah since she brought him back. At that point there was no need for Irene’s vote since Austin only needed two votes.

Austin left with his head held high however knowing that he lost 160+ lbs in 19 weeks, that is a whole other person! To date Austin is down another 5 lbs and has really gotten into boxing, courtesy of Brett and Cara’s early training. Austin is hoping to be a new man at the finale, and we can’t wait to see him there! Be sure to tune in next week for the last episode before the finale of The Biggest Loser on NBC!
