This weekend, the top three finalists on American Idol went home to celebrate before they hit the stage again this week. Haley Reinhart started her homecoming at the AT&T store in Deer Park, where she signed autographs for about 200 fans, and politely refused to sing despite the pleas. Later that day she headed back to her old school, Wheeling High School, where she had another meet and greet with 400 fans or so. Haley did end up doing a performance that evening where she was joined by 30,000 people to Arlington Park in inclement weather. Haley was also given her judges choice song which will be Alanis Morrisette’s “You Oughtta Know.”
Scotty McCreery headed to Garner, NC this weekend where the town went all out for their Idol hero, spending something like $60,000 to host an event packed with 30,000 people. Scotty then made a pit stop at his old grocery store, where he even bagged a few items and joked that the manager was upset that he hadn’t given his 2 week notice. Later that night, Scotty went to Lake Benson Park and began to give thousands of fans a performance of “Your Man” when he was surprised by his own Idol, Josh Turner, who joined him on stage for a duet! As for his judges choice song, Scotty will perform “She Believes In Me” by Kenny Rogers.
Lauren Alaina spent her homecoming in Atlanta, GA as she lead a parade, then headed to her school but she didn’t forget to make a visit to Ringold, Georgia, which was ravaged recently by tornadoes. After yet another parade, Lauren headed to Coolidge Park, where she gave a performance and plenty of tears! Lauren discovered that her song from the judges this week will be “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack.
