Last night was a strange evening on FOX‘s American Idol when the top three performed without James Durbin, and now James tells a tale of how he was bullied as a child. Keep reading for more details on this story!
American Idol’s James Durbin, who was shockingly eliminated last week may not have won the show but he still feels like a winner. The 22 year old rocker recently sat down with Life & Style magazine to talk about how much he has overcome to get where he is, including being bullied. James who has been diagnosed with both Tourette’s and Asperger’s syndromes said “I got bullied so much. It was awful, and it really could’ve destroyed me had I not found music as an outlet.”
James, who lost his father at only 9 years old also told Life & Style “Life puts obstacles in your way, and you have to tackle them.” Part of overcoming his obstacles has been his girlfriend Heidi and his 2 year old son Hunter, but James also credits his fans as he said “It feels so good to know that I’m an inspiration.” If only James knew how much his fans missed him last night, but we know he is on to bigger and better things.
