VH1 takes a new spin on a housewives series, with their latest reality show, Mob Wives. Who are these women and what makes this new series so intriguing? Keep reading and we will tell you all about it!
Mob Wives follows four women who all have one thing in common – they are connected to well-known New York mafia men. Renee Graziano, Karen Gravano, Drita D’avanzo, and Carla Facciolo are the stars of the show and have been called the “real life Sopranos.” Viewers watch as these women are left to raise children, pay bills, and battle stereotypes as their husbands or loved-ones are serving time for various crimes.
The most controversial storyline has been about Karen Gravano. Karen is the daughter of the infamous Sammy “The Bull” Gravano. Sammy is well-known for assisting the government with the take down of John Gotti and the Gambino family. Karen was only 19 when her father betrayed the Mafia and it took quite an emotional toll on her. After trying to stay in New York after her father’s betrayal, she relocated to Arizona where her family lived. Now, twelve years later, Karen is back to face the people that her father betrayed. In mafia terms, her dad was a “rat” which is not well-received amongst these families. Karen has come to terms with her father’s decision and she is ready to write a book about it.
Tough, edgy, and raw is how this VH1 series has been described. Mob Wives airs every Sunday night on VH1 at 8:00 p.m. What do you think of this series? Give us your opinion on the show, by posting a comment below.
