American Idol Finale: What Songs Were Sung?

May 24, 2011 09:30 PM by Christine McDow

Tonight’s American Idol finale performances were some of the best of the season. Both Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina got to sing three songs. This was a big deal for Lauren Alaina since just hours before the show started the rumors were that she was not going to be able to sing. So what did the American Idol season 10 winner hopefuls sing? Keep reading to find out.

The song categories were simple. The artists favorite performance from the season, a song picked by their musical idol, and the song that will be their first single. So what did they choose?

Scotty sang first in all categories. For favorite performance he chose “Gone” by Montgomery Gentry. George Strait is his idol and picked his own song “Check Yes Or No”. Then, as we told you earlier, the single that Scotty McCreery will have is “I Love You This Big”.

Lauren followed Scotty performing “Flat On The Floor” by Carrie Underwood who happened to also be her idol. Carrie picked for Lauren to sing “Maybe in Memphis”. Then her single is named “Like My Mother Does” and according to the judges is going to be the song that helps her win the competition.

So who did you like best? Which song? Would you buy either single? Comment below and let us know what you think!
