American Idol: Season Ten Finale Begins On The West Coast

May 24, 2011 08:15 PM by Lori Wilson

The Season Ten Finale of American Idol has arrived! The East Coast has already seen what’s happened, but for those who are on the West Coast, read on to find out what’s going down on the American Idol season finale.

Despite reports that Lauren wouldn’t be able to sing in tonight’s finale she arrived to compete for the title. The doctor came out to tell us that Lauren blew out a vocal chord during rehearsal – likened to a runner with a sprain. The doctor reassured Ryan Seacrest and the crowd that Lauren would do great all night long.

There will be three rounds for the night: The first one will consist of American Idol‘s Season Ten finalists singing their favorite songs from earlier in the season. The second round will consist of a song chosen by their personal idols: Lauren will have Carrie Underwood choose for her and Scotty will have George Strait choose for him. The third round will be original songs Scotty and Lauren will release should they be named Season Ten’s American Idol.

The first round got underway with Scotty performing “Gone” by Montgomery Gentry and Lauren performing “Flat on the Floor” by Carried Underwood. For the whole story go to our full recap at American Idol: Top Two Finale Performances.
