American Idol: Scotty McCreery’s Big Debut On The Charts!

May 30, 2011 10:00 AM by Lisa Princ

American Idol on FOX‘s season may be over, but now the finalists are hitting the Billboard Charts with their tunes. Winner Scotty McCreery kicks off his debut on the charts with a historic start! Keep reading for all the details!

American Idol season ten winner Scotty McCreery’s new single “I Love You This Big” hit the airways and the charts after his big win last week. We knew the fans loved Scotty and it’s showing as his debut has made history on the Country music charts, which has come in debuting at number 32. According to Billboard, the debut marks the highest for a brand new artist’s first single since the chart converted to BDS data the week of Jan. 20, 1990. Lauren Alaina also debuted on the charts at number 49 with “Like My Mother Does”.

Scotty McCreery could possibly give American Idol their 300th number soon, some are speculating as early as this week. Scotty’s single is topping iTunes at the moment, which indicates a possible debut at number one on Billboard’s Hot 100, Hot Digital Singles and Country Digital Singles charts. Scotty’s debut single is already off to a better start than Idol’s previous two winners, Lee DeWyze and Kris Allen leaving most speculating that he will do better in album sales as well.

Scotty gave the country something fresh and new, we forgot our problems on Wed and Thur and watched him. I will buy his CD’s and support him. All ages love him. I love the new song. Lauren was good and so was James. Hope Scotty can produce a duet with Lauren. She is cute with him and they sing great together. Scotty is #1.

Got Scotty’s single. Love it!! Also got his Idol album. Both are really good. Can’t believe a 17 year old can sing like that!!! Hope he has another album out soon. HE is a wonderful roll model for the kids of America. It is about time we had someone the kids can look up to that actually has morals & stands up for what he believes.

This 17 year old will go far in Nashville. There are those who doubt he has the talent but I have a very discerning ear and I guarantee that he will have platinum selling records. This young man has a fan base that is already unprecedented. I want the naysayers to reflect on this. Watch this kid kick ass and take names!

I love Scotty and Lauren equally. They are both #1 in my book! Idol should have a girl winner and a guy winner (guys usually always come in first on Idol, because of the “tween” girl vote.) And Scotty and Lauren are both such great role models! I hope they do some duets.

So I will buy records by both Scotty and Lauren. Think about it. TWO young country singers won! That is incredible! And both such terrific young performers. I am just thrilled!
