Episode two of The Bachelorette went pretty smoothly compared to the drama of the season premiere. Ashley Hebert took her guys to Las Vegas for two one-on-one dates and a group date. Keep reading to find out what Ashley’s thoughts were on the episode…
Ashley kicked off episode two of The Bachelorette by surprising the guys with destination dates – to Las Vegas!
The first one-on-one date went to William, and Ashley still calls it the best first date she’s ever been on (take that Brad Womack!), noting that he had depth to his personality in addition to looking good and being fun. William gamely went all the way to the altar with Ashley as they fake-planned a quickie wedding. She says this cemented his status as a ‘keeper’. In her People blog, Ashley characterizes their connection over his experience with his father as the highlight of the date. They ended the night kissing in front of the Bellagio water fountains, which Ashley called “a magical moment.”
Next up was the group date in which the 12 bachelors were split into two crews to compete for the chance to perform with Ashley and the Jabbawockeez on the stage in Vegas. For Ashley this experience was one of her favorite moments from the entire season. She says the guys really came through with their dancing and she was, “happy to share that moment with them.”
Ashley’s last one-on-one date was decided by a flip of a coin, in keeping with the Vegas theme. A disappointed JP lost out to Mickey, who joined Ashley in Las Vegas and received a rose. Ashley remarked on how JP approached her during the cocktail ceremony and they shared their first kiss, saying, “I was suspecting that JP walked into the cocktail party with a double-sided coin. Regardless, I knew that whichever way the coin landed, I would be happy with the outcome…”
As for the emerging villain, Bentley, who spewed offensive comments throughout the episode, Ashley had this to say about watching it back, “Even as I cringe through some of the things that Bentley said throughout filming, I wouldn’t change the way I was, because in that moment it was the way I felt.”
The next episode of The Bachelorette airs Monday June 6 – tune in!
