The Voice’s First LIVE Show!

June 07, 2011 08:26 PM by Shayla Perry

LIVE from L.A., it’s NBC‘s hit reality competition The Voice! Whether you missed tonight’s LIVE show, just want to share your thoughts with other fans, or need voting information to make sure your favorite artist makes it through to the the next round — you’ve come to the right place!

The coaches kicked off the show with a medley of Queen songs that was so good you just have to see it for yourself!

Tonight, members of Team Christina and Team Blake will be taking the stage (how crazy is that stage?!).

First up is Raquel Castro from Team Christina performing Ke$ha’s “Blow.” She’s the youngest artist remaining in the competition, but you wouldn’t know it by how she commands the stage. A true mini-Christina whose performance had her coach out of her seat and doing the choreography along with her like a proud stage mama, and Blake Shelton only able to say, “Damn!” wishing he had chosen to have her on his team.

Next is father-of-six, rocker Jared Blake singing Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody.” Is it just us, or has the song choice been on point so far in the competition?!

Blake rocks out on the stage, then ditches his guitar to work the crowd, proving to Blake Shelton that he’s definitely a rock star, and not even a little bit country!

Beverly McClellan is singing Melissa Etheridge’s “I’m the Only One,” but she’s been battling a nasty cold. Will it have an impact on her performance?

Um, if it did, we definitely couldn’t tell!

Another perfect song choice and another awesome performance. Even Blake Shelton, who once said that he was frightened by Bev, admits that he’s taken by her sexy kilt that “daddy likey.”

Dia Frampton, the shy children’s book author, is doing her own rendition of Kanye West’s “Heartless.” Already trying to overcome some major stage fright (and who could blame her with that stage?), Blake suggests that she try playing the piano during the song as well.

After delivering a breakthrough performance that the coaches feel is the best so far in the entire competition, Cee Lo says that Dia’s rendition is the greatest he’s ever heard and will be sure to tell his boy Kayne West all about it.

Luckily, there’s a brief commercial break to give us a breather before the next performance — Team Christina WITH Christina Aguilera singing “Lady Marmalade.”

Poor Xenia is following that with Jessi J’s “Price Tag.” After singing along with her throughout, Blake Shelton runs up on the stage and gives Xenia the biggest hug, telling her how proud he is of her. The other coaches agree that she did a great job, and it was refreshing to see her smile and finally start to open up.

Team Christina’s Lily Elise is up next singing Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” The back-up dancers were a drawback for Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, but Christina Aguilera defends her choice to add them to the performance, and lets Lily know how proud she is of her being able to tap into the emotion she was struggling with throughout rehearsals.

Now it’s Team Blake’s turn to hit the stage with their coach, and of course, in true Blake Shelton fashion, he chooses Maroon 5′s “This Love.” What can we say? Another great performance!

The last team member from Team Blake is Patrick Thomas, who’s dedicating his performance of Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” to his sister, who also has dreams of becoming a singer. Blake Shelton couldn’t be happier, telling Thomas that he’s done all of Nashville proud, and the rest of the coaches agree that he’s naturally a great performer. Cee Lo Green even tells Patrick that he thinks he’s going to make it through to the end of the competition.

Last, but certainly not least is Ms. Frenchie Davis. Frenchie is singing David Guetta & Kelly Rowland’s “When Love Takes Over.” Adam Levine pretty much sums it up the best with: “Damn, girl! Wow!”

It’s going to be hard sending any of these artists home!

The good news is, you have a chance to save your favorite. Next week, two members of Team Blake and Team Christina will be eliminated. One artist will be put through based on viewer votes and another will be chosen by the coach.
