The World According To Paris: Premiere Ratings Tank And Paris Blames Network!

June 07, 2011 08:00 AM by Lisa Princ

Did you miss the series premiere of The World According To Paris on Oxygen? Yeah, we did as well – but it sounds like we didn’t miss too much as the show got off to an awful start and of course Paris Hilton won’t take any of the blame. Instead she is blaming the network for the show’s premiere tanking in ratings. Keep reading for details!

The World According To Paris on Oxygen was a complete bomb last week in the series premiere episode, bringing in a measly 400,000 viewers and even worse was the less than 274,000 viewers in the key demographic of 18-49. But it wouldn’t happen to be Paris’ fault, now would it? I mean, why wouldn’t anyone want to watch her in action?

According to Popeater, an inside source close to Paris claims “Paris is furious that the show didn’t premiere at the time it was supposed to. She worked her tail off doing promotion and publicity for the show and then because of a technical mistake, the show aired at a completely different time in a lot of markets.”

Oxygen representatives have another story as they said “The show premiered at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 as was promoted. There were no technical mistakes. We look forward to a very exciting run of the series.” The site also claims that another “source” says if the numbers do not see any improvement she will be pulled off the air – good riddance!

Of course, Paris has been down this road before as her prior show on MTV was a complete bomb as well – but hey, it has to be the network’s fault, right? After all, that 10 pm slot is so tough – maybe in her mind! Just looking at Bravo proves her wrong as they have aired many successful shows on numerous days of the week at 10 pm!

Okay, I admit it…I did watch the 2nd half of the 1st episode. Enough to see why no one would watch. Not exactly the best way to go about improving her image; especially since she ends up doing a lot of the same stuff she did on other shows. The truth is, there’s just no audience for her right now, but for a person that for years lived her life in front of the cameras, taking away that attention is like cutting off her air supply. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: If they’re going to give this show a shot, Oxygen’s going to totally work the hell out of the Brooke Mueller footage. Paris is already dropping Brooke’s name in tweets promoting the show.

My secret’s out! I watched, but only because I couldn’t find the remote to change the channel. And if you tell anybody, I swear I’ll deny it! :)

I did watch the frist 2 episodes, but only b/c I was curious about Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife. I find Paris to be boring and predictable. She’s a high school drop out that looks like Barbie. Who cares? All the women kept saying how “sweet” she is and how they want to be her friend, but all she does is call them a “hungry bitch”. Will NOT be watching any more episodes. Brooke is a bore as well.

Paris Hilton is about as interesting as watching beige paint dry. Why TV producers insist on putting this bimbo on TV is beyond me. She is uninteresting. Who cares about a vain, vapid, privileged brat?

I soooo disagree with your statement. White paint… Paris Hilton is about as interesting as watching white paint dry. Beige has a little too much personality. ;)
