Teen Mom: Amber Portwood Pleads Guilty In Court

June 10, 2011 03:29 AM by Megan Thompson

Amber Portwood, Teen Mom star and on-and-off girlfriend of Gary Shirley, headed to an Indiana court yesterday to plead guilty to domestic violence charges.  Find out if the MTV mama will be spending any time in jail?

Amber was charged with two counts of felony domestic charges when an episode of Teen Mom aired a violent altercation between her and Gary.   Amber could have spent up to three years in jail and pay a $10,000 fine for these charges –but what did she get?

No jail time for this young mom, rather the Indiana judge placed Amber on two years of probation.  Amber also accepted a plea deal which allowed two charges, a felony and a misdemeanor, to be dismissed.  A major win for Amber and Gary was that the “no contact” order that didn’t allow the couple to see each other without their daughter, Leah, being present was dropped.

This couple has seen its fair share of police stations and courtrooms.  Gary was recently arrested for driving with a suspended license, but he wasn’t actually driving at the time of the arrest.  An officer approached the park car because he heard Gary and Amber arguing.

Do you think Amber has learned her lesson? An all new season of Teen Mom featuring Amber premieres this July – so tune in to see the drama unfold.
