Reality TV Charity Event Returns To Kentucky

June 15, 2011 10:00 AM by Ryan Haidet

It’s back!  After taking a year off, the Kentuckiana Police and Firefighters Summer Bash Benefit is ready to rock Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, June 18!  With multiple returning celebrity guests from Survivor, the Amazing Race and Big Brother, there’s also a batch of newbies for this year’s event.  What all is going down and who will be attending?  Read more to find out!

2011 marks the eighth time this charity event has taken place in an effort to raise money for Kosair Charities.  But this year the whole thing will be housed in a new place.  For the last several events, the charity ball has been held inside the Galt House Hotel.  This year that location has changed to the Seelbach Hilton Hotel, which is located at 500 South 4th Street — just a few blocks away from Galt House.

The main event takes place from 8 p.m. through midnight on Saturday evening inside the hotel’s Medallion Ballroom.  Admission is $50 and a jar of peanut butter.

Once you get inside, have your autograph books and cameras ready.  You will be rubbing shoulders with Survivor winners Chris Daugherty (Vanuatu) and two-time champ, Sandra Diaz-Twine.  Other Survivor castaways at the event include three from Redemption Island (Natalie Tenerelli, Ashley Underwood and Andrea Boehlke), two from Nicaragua (Holly Hoffman and Jane Bright) and one each from Palau, Cook Islands, Exile Island and the Australian Outback (James Miller, Cristina Coria, Bruce Kanegai and Rodger Bingham respectively).  Alongside Daugherty, Travis “Bubba” Sampson will also be there representing Survivor: Vanuatu once again.

Hayden Moss (winner) and Kathy Hillis of Big Brother 12 will be stopping by along with the one of the most-recent winners of the Amazing Race, LaKisha Hoffman.  If you’re a fan of Ghost Hunters on SyFy, this is your shot to meet Britt Griffith.  His visit marks the first time a member of the TAPS team has ever haunted the event.

Multiple other non-reality celebrity guests will be there as well including Ken Osmond of Leave it to Beaver, Vincent Pastore of the Sopranos and William Mapother of Lost.

This event is also in support of the local Dare to Care Food Bank.
