Looking to improve your health? These simple and easy nutrition tips from the show’s team will help you on your weight loss journey:

Tip #1: Sugar is not good for your weight. It causes cavities and now we know it contributes to unhealthy cholesterol. Too much sugar lowers the good HDL cholesterol and increases unhealthy triglycerides. The EMWLE team suggestion new recommendations for sugar: consume no more than 100 calories worth a day, so 25 grams per day total. FYI: One 12 oz. soda is 20 grams of sugar!

Tip #2: If you’re overweight, studies are showing that most people cannot lose weight by exercising alone. The only way to lose those extra pounds is to restrict calories as well as to engage in four to six hours a week of exercise.

Tip #3: The new recommendations on sodium are 2,300 mg per day and 1,500 mg per day for those with high blood pressure. You can lower sodium in food by using fewer condiments. Also, limit yourself to no more than two tablespoons of salad dressing per meal or one tablespoon of other condiments such as ketchup, mayo etc.

Tip #4: Look for bread that is at least three grams of fiber and cereals with more than six grams to improve your health.

    I have a dozen cHildren and more responsiblity than most families all on my own. I must lost 70#. I eat an 800 cal low carb diet, no soda, no sugar, lean protein( fish/ some chicken), and work out several times weekly in addition to working full. Time. If i cannot lose this weight my life will be over as I do not think i can bear any more. My plan B is to take
    Myself out as i am at the end of my rope. I have no more strength on my own.
