In VH1′s Mob Wives, family takes on a whole new meaning: the one you’re born into and the one that finds you. For the stars of the hit reality show, family is a twisted web of lies that can break your heart and destroy the very life you’ve cultivated with one knock on the door by the Feds.
These aren’t your ordinary, everyday mothers. The Mob Wives are tough cookies from Staten Island, New York, related to Mafia men through marriage and through blood. All have regrets and shame about their associations and form a close clique that both unites and divides them as they struggle to try and live their day to day lives. The members of Mob Wives include Renee Graziano, Karen Gravano, Drita D’avanzo and Carla Facciolo and you’d better not cross them, or they’ll be hell to pay!
Renee is the daughter of Anthony Graziano, reputed consigliere of the Bonanno crime family. She is divorced from alleged gangster, Junior, and together they have a son, AJ. She’s the biggest diva of the group, as well as the one who finds it hardest to break the Mafia lifestyle.
Karen, the daughter of Sammy “The Bull” Gravano, Gambino underboss and “rat”, moved to Arizona with her family after her father took down John Gotti Sr. in a Feds investigation. She’s returned to Staten Island to face her past.
Tough-as-nails Drita is married to Lee D’avanzo, a member of both the Bonanno and Colombo families. While Lee is in prison for armed bank robbery. Drita is faced with staying put or moving away and raising her two young daughters away from the only life their father knows.
Carla married Joey Farragamo, who she believed to be a stockbroker. They had a comfortable life and a daughter and son, until Joey was arrested in a scam where he filtered hundreds of thousands of dollars for the mafia. Can these women come to terms with their lives and move on, or face more years of heartache as they see the men they love be put in jail time and time again?
The season finale of Mob Wives will air on Sunday, June 26th, with the Reunion show following on July 10th.
