America’s Got Talent Recap: The City That Never Sleeps Brings Out The Crazy People

June 28, 2011 07:31 PM by Lisa Princ

America’s Got Talent on NBC is back tonight with more auditions as the cross country search continues in New York City. And the city that never sleeps definitely brought he crazy people out, including one contestant who serenaded Nick Cannon! Read on for all of tonight’s insane talent!

America’s Got Talent kicked off more auditions tonight in the Big Apple once again, but would New York City give us more talent than the last visit? Kicking off the talent tonight was a married couple, both doctors who claimed they were singers, but their English was not good, so we knew off the bat it was going to be interesting.

“Rak and Tak” performed “Alone” by Heart and it was greeted with boo’s from the audience immediately and views of them covering their ears. The judges did not buzz right away, I think they were too busy laughing at this pair. Piers told them they were a better suited couple than he has ever seen before. Sharon told them it would be horrible to pull them away from the competition as both she and Howie said no. Piers, said there was something compelling about how awful they were and he would have said yes!

Next up were a pair of daredevil bikers, who left the judges scared to be so close to them, while they put up barriers for the audience. Howie walked off the panel and into the audience even hiding behind an audience member. “The Smage Brothers Riding Show” was actually superb, they rode their bikes all over the stage doing tricks and including riding over a person without running him over. The judges loved them and sent them through to Vegas!

Then the great acts followed on America’s Got Talent, such as singer Dylan Andre and Shemika Charles a limbo queen. And then we met Ed Cole, a 75 year old who came out in a cape and then dropped it to show his muscles – wearing nothing but pink undies – yikes!

Then we saw a repeat audition in “Leonid The Magnificent” who was rejected twice by Piers and David Hasselhoff. After trying numerous idiotic acts, he waved a huge “I Love Piers” flag and continued with the silliness – but did Piers crack? Nope, Piers told him no, but Sharon loved him and so did Howie although he called him weird. So to Piers Morgan’s dismay, Leonid was going to Vegas – what a ridiculous act!

After a break we met Rachel Zamstein, a 26 year old singer who used music to keep her off drugs and turn her life around. Rachel had a great voice and was rocking her electric guitar. Piers was the first to tell her he loved her, but Howie said she held back. Piers said yes while Howie said no – what is wrong with him? Sharon couldn’t decide whether or not she thought Rachel was ready but she ended up giving her a ticket to Vegas!

Then the insane acts started up again with the Naked Cowgirl, a 57 year old dancing around in her bikini and singing “I Love Nick” to Nick Cannon which easily earned her three no’s. And the crazies followed with an idiot Zombie act, and a grown man in a diaper, among others. One of the more unique acts we saw was a woman with dolls heads for a face dancing around switching faces and clothes, it was strange but good enough to get her through to Vegas.

Sam B was up next with his insane dance routine. Dude was large but he was working it and the audience loved him. This was definitely one of the funniest acts of the evening, and Sharon called him “barking mad” but fantastic. Howie said he could see Sam B becoming a dance craze and Piers called him brilliantly terrible as all three gave him a yes, sending him to Vegas!

That wraps up tonight’s auditions, be sure to tune in tomorrow for more auditions!
