Last night on Fox‘s Masterchef we watched as Alvin Schultz was eliminated, but did he deserve to leave the cooking competition? He doesn’t think so as he sat down to chat with us today exclusively about the competition and his molecular strategy! Read on for more…
Masterchef’s Alvin Schultz was sure he was going to make the finals, but that dream came to an end last night when he was eliminated from the competition, although we saw far worse mistakes. What happened? Alvin is just as confused as the rest of us he shares in our one on one interview this morning. Grab a cup of coffee and check out what Alvin wanted to share with us!
RTVM: Can you tell us your thoughts on last night’s elimination?
Alvin Schultz: I was shocked. Standing in the bottom three was unexpected to me, considering I had the most cutting edge dish there. No, it was not executed perfectly, but I was hoping the judges would have cut me some slack since there were worse dishes.
RTVM: Gordon said the filling was bitter, do you think that played a part in your elimination?
Alvin Schultz: Well, the thing is that I drink back coffee. I mean, my filling was coffee and chicory so of course it was going to be bitter. I guess that did not go over well with them.
RTVM: How did you get so into the molecular science of food?
Alvin Schultz: Whenever I put myself into anything, I put my entire self into it. There are a ton of interesting concepts that I would work on, and some would fail but some were great. I would just keep taking the information and pouring myself into the science.
RTVM: Most of us thought that would take you through to the finals.
Alvin Schultz: I felt that way too, so did the cast. It is what it is I guess.
RTVM: Who do you think should have gone home last night?
Alvin Schultz: Max or Jennie. Joe told Max that was the worse dish he ever tasted.
RTVM: Do you think Max is being kept on as his cockiness creates drama?
Alvin Schultz: Maybe….could be.
RTVM: What is next for you?
Alvin Schutz: Right now I am working on my private chef business as well as molecular stuff. Fans can keep up with me on my website.
Best of luck to Alvin Schultz! Did the judges get it right? Comment and share your thoughts with us!
