Although still unsure if she is returning to the judging table for season eleven of American Idol, Grammy Award nominated Jennifer Lopez has officially joined the cast of the new romantic comedy ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’. The triple threat and mom to twins Emme and Max will play the part of ‘Holly’, a woman who has trouble conceiving so decides with her husband to adopt from overseas. The movie which is said to be written in a similar tone to ‘Love Actually’ follows the interlocking stories of five couples who eagerly await the arrival of the stork.
Jennifer is no stranger to a movie set. Before being the favorite American Idol judge of many, Jennifer stared in movies such as ‘Jersey Girl’ and ‘Monster in Law’. Other actresses rumored to appear alongside her in the flick are Cameron Diaz and Isla Fisher and its directed by Kirk Jones (Nanny Mcphee). Filming begins next month in Georgia and the expected release date is around Mothers Day 2012 (of course!).
The book ‘What to Expect When you’re Expecting’ written by Heidi Murkoff has been on the New York Times best seller list for 500 weeks and had sold 16 million copies before Lionsgate picked up the international movie rights in October, 2010. Know to some as ‘The Pregnancy Bible’ it is a staple on women’s bookshelf’s around the world.
How do you feel about a movie adaptation of this non fiction Mommy staple? Will you go to see The Idol Judge star in this romantic comedy?
