Mark your calendars! Although production is still underway on Survivor: South Pacific, the show’s premiere date has already been announced. When does the reality giant return? Read on to find out!
The first episode of Survivor: South Pacific — the show’s 23rd season — will air on Wednesday, September 14 at 8 p.m. This is the third consecutive season in which Survivor will air on Wednesday nights, which continues after CBS moved the show from Thursdays last fall for Survivor: Nicaragua.
If you haven’t figured it out yet, the title of Survivor: South Pacific is very vague in revealing the show’s actual location. That’s because it’s a clever way of camouflaging the fact this season is actually filming in Samoa once again — this is where seasons 19 and 20 (Samoa and Heroes vs. Villains) were filmed. Since CBS now uses the same location for back-to-back seasons, Samoa is also expected to be used for season 24, which will debut in February 2012.
While we’re going to be seeing a familiar location, there are other similarities coming for Survivor: South Pacific. Just like last season, Redemption Island is back in the game as 16 new castaways square off against two returning players. Who are those two returning players? *Potential spoiler alert* Although nothing has been confirmed yet, many fans speculate that Benjamin “Coach” Wade and Ozzy Lusth are both back for their third attempt at winning the $1 million prize. Can one of these guys follow in “Boston Rob” Mariano‘s footsteps and walk away victorious?
