Javier Colon was crowned the winner of The Voice, but that’s not the only thing people are talking about. NBC called on some big stars to perform duets with finalists Javier Colon, Dia Frampton, Vicci Martinez and Beverly McClellan. Read on to see what show-stopping songs stars Miranda Lambert, Stevie Nicks, Ryan Tedder (One Republic) and Pat Monahan (Train) performed with the finalists on The Voice finale.
Carson Daly said a few big stars would be headed to The Voice’s finale results show to perform duets with finalists Javier Colon, Dia Frampton, Vicci Martinez and Beverly McClellan, but we didn’t expect a line-up that included Miranda Lambert, Stevie Nicks, Ryan Tedder (One Republic) and Pat Monahan (Train).
Okay, maybe we did expect Miranda Lambert to sing with Team Blake Shelton’s Dia Frampton — it was being promoted everywhere. But, Stevie Nicks? That’s rock royalty right there, folks. We thought it would be fun to break down the duets and give you a look back at the amazing star power The Voice produced on its first finale.
We have two favorites and we’re going to start with the Miranda Lambert and Dia Frampton duet. Blake Shelton’s two girls standing on stage together was completely emotional. They sang Miranda Lambert’s hit The House That Built Me and if there was a dry eye in the house we couldn’t find it. Miranda Lambert is a pure country queen and Blake Shelton finally realized why he gets so emotional over Dia Frampton — she’s now family!
Our second favorite duet of the night came from Stevie Nicks and Javier Colon. The moment winner Javier Colon opened his mouth to sing Landslide with the biggest music star on the planet, we knew we were watching something epic happen. When Stevie Nicks starts moving her arms around to the music, while simply standing still, you are put in a trance. We have to say, we also didn’t hate the wind machine. There was wind machine, right.
Pat Monahan and Vicci Martinez’s duet was a little less epic in our mind because the music from the stage seemed to take away from the vocals. We were also completely distracted by his hair. They chose the Train classic Drops Of Jupiter. Now, watching Vicci Martinez try to add her war dance to the slower song was pretty entertaining. Come on, can you imagine looking across the stage and seeing Pat Monahan and realizing you’re singing with him. It had to be a moment she’ll never forget.
Probably the most entertaining duet came One Republic’s Ryan Tedder and Beverly McClellan. These two just went nuts on the stage! The rocked out to Good Life and so did we! It was pure fun! They ran from one end of the stage to the next and even incorporated some fun dance moments. Okay, it wasn’t dance, it was more like bobbing around, but still fabulous! We have to give special mention to Beverly McClellan’s top coat! She has such style! Rock on, Beverly.
