Oh snap! We hate to brag and say that we knew it was coming, but…. With the first season of NBC‘s The Voice under his glittery belt, Cee Lo Green took to his Twitter page to tell fans that he and the rest of the hip-hop group Goodie Mob will be reuniting: “NEW GOODIE MOB COMING SOON!!!!!!!!!” Prepare for pure awesomeness!
Most of the country got to know Cee Lo Green when his hit “F**k You!” topped the charts and achieved mainstream appeal when it was successfully covered by Gwyneth Paltrow on Fox‘s Glee. But before he was coaching Team Cee Lo and making us “Crazy” as the front man of Gnarls Barkley, Cee Lo Green was one-fourth of the Atlanta based hip-hop group Goodie Mob.
After leaving the group in 2000 to pursue other projects, Cee Lo’s ready to make a return, joining Khujo, T-Mo, and Big Gipp to lay down some tracks that we can only imagine will reflect the musical growth the artist has experienced over the years.
“Goodie Mob is here to stay and so is hip hop,” Green tells The Source. “And we [as] a community need help, and I’m a part of that community, so I believe doing another Goodie Mob album is doing a civil service, if you will.”
And that’s not all. Green has also confirmed that Gnarls Barkley will also be releasing a new album in the very near future.
Who says good things can’t come from reality TV?!
