The creators of the of Jersey Shore phenomenon are bringing us a new luscious reality series. Katie Cazorla owns The Painted Nail in the heart of Los Angeles and her new show, Nail Files, brings viewers into the day in a life of a salon that offers Margarita Mama Manis and Ice Cream Sundae Pedis. SheKnows Celebrity Correspondent, Whitney English, sat down with Katie to find out what’s buzzing about the show and which celebs are crushing on Katie’s nail shop.
Even though Katie stated ‘What happens in The Painted Nail, stays in The Painted Nail‘ she managed to give us a little dirt. “Some of the girls from Jersey Shore came in one day. That was quite eventful.” According to Katie, the girls who got their three seasons of fame from MTV are exactly like their jersey-licious TV personas.
Katie tells us Snooki was a victim to the Ice Cream Sundae Pedicure. So what was rubbed all over Snooki’s tootsies? An ice cream bath bomb, a sundae style sugar scrub, an ice cream sandwich callus removal, and finally a marshmallow/carmel/chocolate mask. But, believe it or not, there is enough drama on this show even without the appearance of snooki-toes.
Katie’s vibrant, larger than life body plastered on the side of her mobile nail truck is a small hint to the vibe we should expect on Nail Files. “There’s a ton of drama, obviously because I have a lot of female employees under one roof.” That, along her spontaneous lifestyle and the quirky celebs that pop in for her ice cream sundae spa treatments, make this a show for your reality radar.
“I didn’t think anyone would want to watch the show besides my mom.” Katie smirks. Clearly that is not the case because when the show aired it became the highest rated series premiere in the history of the TV Guide Network. Turns out, Katie’s employees know how to clip cuticles AND be in show biz.
“We have some really fun celebrities that come in,” says Katie. Even men! Too Short, a rap star from the 90s, shows his face at The Painted Nail on a regular basis. “Men do get manis and pedis. It’s important to not have scaggy cuticles now-a-days.”
“For the most part we have really low maintenance, fun celebs that come into the salon.” Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens, and Sarah Chalke to drop a few names.
You can catch Katie and The Painted Nail Tuesdays at 10/9c on The TV Guide Network.
