Ashley Hebert’s Dumb Bachelorette Moment Of The Week: Cutting Ames

July 19, 2011 07:00 AM by Kristin Watson

The Bachelorette’s Ashley Hebert made a move this week during the hometown dates that didn’t sit well with us. When she cut Ames loose she provided us with yet another installment of Ashley Hebert’s Dumb Bachelorette Moment Of The Week. Keep reading to find out why.

We’re really rooting for The Bachelorette’s Ashley Hebert to find love. But when she got rid of Ames after the hometown dates this week, we couldn’t help but make it a Ashley Hebert’s Dumb Bachelorette Moment Of The Week choice. Ames, throughout the competition, has been a gentle soul putting Ashley Hebert first.

First, let’s talk about his story. After learning that he’s lost two father figures in his life, which prompts him to be a bit more cautious and thoughtful, we were sure he’d be a logical choice to progress. Ashley Hebert has had her heart broken so many times, you would think she’d want to be with someone who doesn’t want to take life or her for granted.

Another upside to Ames was his treatment of Ashley Hebert. The man took a punch to the head from Ryan for her and was rushed to the hospital. Not once did he complain. He even made it back to the cocktail hour despite a head injury and waited to move into their first kiss — which was sweet and momentous in our eyes.

We think that Ashley might have been mistaken when she felt a lack of spark. She’s got three other guys who have had a quicker buildup, but they all seem to have some sort of baggage. Things were just budding between her and Ames, not moving at the warp speed of a TV show. Constantine doesn’t know that he’ll be ready to propose, Ben F has to have his family’s approval or it’s off and J.P, well, J.P. can stay — but don’t cut Ames just yet. It was a bad move. Ames just seemed ready to find someone to enjoy life with. We would have broke it down between Constantine and Ben F.

What did you think of Ashley Hebert’s choice on The Bachelorette this week? Was cutting Ames loose before the final three a bad move in your eyes? Remember, this is strictly an opinion and no reality show stars were hurt in the making of this article.

I really disagree with this story. Although if feel you had Ames character correct all the wayI really feel you have Ben and Constatine wrong. Ben is the best choice for Ashley. He is laying it all out for her and like Ames has had personal(not girlfriend breaking up with you like JP)tragedies from his life that have made him a true gentleman. She would be crazy to choose anybody else over him.

Oh the pontification! I am surprised this girl managed to choose the 4 best prospects in the end. As a Penn professional school grad–my alma mater– I have felt her personna as ‘ditz brain’ much of the show. [Bentley indeed.] As to the intense process of the show, just gauge how many of the couples actually have married in the end. Duh! But we keep going back for more! This gal’s focus on physical attraction dominates important, enduring relationship qualities. The biggest flaw in the show is that relationships are not normally developed with such romantic settings, the competiton–it’s Hollywood, not reality.

I loved Ames! Can’t we have him as the next bachelor?

I agree. Ames is such a sweetheart and would be the perfect husband. Nice looking too!
I would have let Ben go. It looks like JP will be leaving as he may not propose. Is she just looking for which one will put the ring on her finger? Ashley has made many bad choices along the way.
Time to go back to the original rules and forget the drama crap!

If she doesn’t want to marry Ames, I will! He’s so adorable and I think she was stupid to throw him away. She seemed worried that their relationship was moving slower than the rest, though to me that seemed to make it all the more real.

Ames is the lucky one-he got away from the whiniest, most stupid Bachelorette ever. Now hopefully the others can get out before its too late!

I am glad Ashley let Ames go. I thought Ames was creepy and thought he was better than anyone else. I hope she picks jp.

I agree with Redware. It has been really frustrating listening to Ashley whine. I think the producers really blew this season starting with picking Ashley as the Bacherlorette and then allowing her to continue to obsess about Bentley when they knew his intentions.

I totally agree with you. Ashley would have made a far better choice with Ames than with some of the other guys. I hope Ames is picked as the next Bachelor too.
