If you are a fan of VH1′s Basketball Wives, then surely you are anticipating the newest addition to the series: Basketball Wives LA. With the new addition set to debut in August, the network is busy taping and getting the staff together. But with rivaling reports all over the web, is the ex-wife of Jayson Williams, Tanya Williams, actually joining the cast? Keep reading for more!
Talk about confusing! The new series as not even aired yet and the drama is already starting as no one seems to know whether or not estranged wife of Jason Williams, Tayna Williams will be starring in the series or not. CNN reported that they have the inside scoop from VH1 that Tayna Williams will indeed be starring in the series. Tayna Williams recently told The New York Post: “I signed on to participate in the show to elevate the negative perception . . . that it is purposely filled with flighty, overly emotional and senselessly dramatic women. Yes, my life is chaotic, dramatic and surreal, but I am also a businesswoman.”
Meanwhile, the LA times is reporting that Tayna Williams will not be a regular cast member and that a spokesperson for the network told them: “She did tape a couple of episodes with us. But she is not a regular. There’s several ladies that make appearances occasionally at dinner parties or other events.” Sounds like Tayna Williams will be making appearances on the show, but will not be one of the constant ladies on the show. Tayna Williams’ ex-husband, Jayson Williams is an ex Nets player who is now spending time in prison for the shooting death of a Limo driver back in 2002.
So far the stars set for the new Basketball Wives LA edition include: Kimsha Artest, wife of Ron Artest, Los Angeles Lakers; Jackie Christie, wife of Doug Christie, former player for the Los Angeles Clippers, Imani Showalter, fiancée of Stephen Jackson, Charlotte Bobcats, Malaysia Pargo, wife of Jannero Pargo, Chicago Bulls. Returning will be Gloria Govan, fiancée of Matt Barnes, Los Angeles Lakers, and her sister Laura Govan.
