Last night we said goodbye to Erryn Cobb on Fox‘s Masterchef as his steak creation did him in. In an exclusive interview, Erryn told us that he has no regrets. Keep reading to hear more of what he had to say!
Masterchef fans watched as Erryn Cobb, who was commonly referred to as the “dark horse” in the competition, ended up saying goodbye last night as simply could not master the truffle challenge. After his steak and his potatoes both flopped, Erryn wound up serving a plate of crunchy vegetables with truffle sauce that did not go over well with the judges. Despite his disappointment, Erryn Cobb remained positive when we spoke to him today as he told us he has no regrets. Below you will find what else Erryn wanted to share with his fans and viewers.
RTVM: Sorry to see you eliminated last night, did you know you were headed home beforehand?
Erryn Cobb: It was a fun experience. I know it when we had about 10 minutes to go in the challenge. I opened up the oven and my potatoes were messed up and then I remembered my steak. It was too late by that point, but it was a very cool experience overall for me.
RTVM: What was the best part of the competition for you?
Erryn Cobb: Okay, this is going to sound corny, but the best part was actually the people. I had the opportunity to meet so many amazing people, such as Giuseppe, who I hang out with every other week. He is actually moving back to Italy and I am already planning visits there. And Derrick – I hang out with him quite a bit as well. It’s so cool to meet all these people that you share this bond with.
RTVM: If you could do it again, what would you change or do differently?
Erryn Cobb: It’s funny because I have gained so many fans from this, and people tell me all the time that I should have started to talk shit, but that is not me. I don’t know, I don’t have any regrets and I don’t live with regrets. I mean, it was something special and cool to me to make it into the top 11 out of all those people who auditioned. It has been amazing, it was everything I expected and more. I would not change anything.
RTVM: What is in your future?
Erryn Cobb: Well, I left my company to go on the show. I have my PR firm and I just got back to work and it is so cool to go to meetings with restaurants and share my experience from the show. This has really opened a lot of doors for me. I have a friend from home who may be investing and helping me start up a restaurant here in Chicago.
RTVM: Are you planning on taking Graham Elliot up on his offer?
Erryn Cobb: I have been in touch with Graham and his people. I am more interested in learning the business aspect of it from him. I need that experience and want to learn how to run a restaurant.
RTVM: Where can fans keep up with you?
Best of luck to Erryn! Be sure to tune in tonight for a brand new episode of Masterchef!
