Tonight’s Power of Veto competition on Big Brother 13 brought a new element to this season — the erosion of the veterans’ alliance. But before we get to that point, the episode kicked off with Jordan suggesting to Adam that he purposely sabotage the PoV competition. That way they could keep their nominations the same and evict Dominic on Thursday night. But not so fast — Dominic has somebody in his corner who is fighting to keep him alive.
Dominic and Daniele (DD) continued to strengthen their bond by figuring out a way to keep him safe in the game. Daniele’s main objective, which she admitted to in a confessional, is that she wants Dominic to trust her 100 percent so he can do all of her dirty work.
Whiner Targets Cassi
As we all know, Cassi and Rachel will never be good friends. They’ve been living in the house together for just a few weeks, but neither can even stand to be near the other. Rachel was busy many times throughout the episode tonight working to convince her allies that Cassi should be their next target. She worked on Jordan, Jeff, Brendon and Daniele to toss her nemesis out of the house.
Rachel’s persistence with the whole situation was really rubbing Jeff the wrong way. Ah, the signs of a battle brewing.
The backyard was transformed into a makeshift candy shop for the PoV competition. Each of the six participants (Jeff, Jordan, Adam, Dominic, Brendon and Rachel) were competing as individuals this time around, which made Dominic very happy. The challenge forced the contestants to chew gumballs while walking back and forth along a balance beam. The chewed gum then had to be placed on “X” marks on a canvas in the shape of the PoV. The first person to finish their gooey art would win. But falling off the balance beam one time meant elimination from the challenge — unless the person would be willing to be put on slop for two weeks.
As the challenge progressed, Jordan fell off the balance beam first and voiced that she would be taking the slop penalty in order to continue. Jeff yelled at her not to take the deal since she didn’t stand a chance at winning anyway. When Jordan followed Jeff’s advice, Rachel was livid and couldn’t keep her mouth shut. She uttered a remark that she shouldn’t bother competing if the Head of Household was so eager to drop out.
Jeff didn’t like this at all. Not one bit.
Rachel fell off the balance beam a few moments later, but immediately took the slop penalty to continue in the challenge. After agreeing to the slop for two weeks, Rachel fell off for a second time, which meant permanent elimination from the PoV challenge. D’oh!
In the end, Dominic won the PoV battle. Back in the confessional, he happily showed off the golden medallion. “Shove that where the sun don’t shine, baby!”
After the challenge, Jeff told Rachel he didn’t appreciate her comments. Rachel couldn’t believe Jeff was talking to her that way and darted off to the side of the yard. Brendon, the apparent girl in the relationship, followed her and agreed that she shouldn’t have been making the negative remarks about Jordan. Jeff continued to express his frustration as Rachel burst into tears and hid in a bush. Kalia thought Rachel was being lame by running out of the battle so easily while Brendon told her not to be embarrassed by her performance — even labeling her as “valiant” since she took the slop.
Back up in the HoH bedroom, Jeff was still fired up about Rachel. He was tired of her trying to act like it’s always about herself. Then he echoed my thoughts right at that moment as he continued his rant to Jordan. He said that Rachel is acting the same way as last season, which left many viewers turned off by her attitude.
It wasn’t long before Rachel went upstairs and apologized to Jordan for the comment during the PoV battle. Jeff felt like her apology was very forced and likely came more from Brendon than herself.
It goes without saying that Dominic used the PoV to pull himself and Adam off the chopping block. “Get your big booty off the block,” Dominic said to Adam. Although Cassi tried to convince Jordan they should backdoor Brendon or Rachel, her strategy didn’t work. Instead, Jordan placed Cassi and Shelly in the eviction chairs as replacement nominees.
Uh oh, Cassi. I can see you walking out the door already.
