Nigel Lythgoe Shares Thoughts on Amy Winehouse Death

July 25, 2011 09:04 AM by Donna Lucas

It is somewhat difficult to see the connection between the head judge of “So You Think You Can Dance” Nigel Lythgoe and Amy Winehouse’s tragic recent passing, but it had been said that they both are from Great Britain. Subsequently, the television star was still questioned on his thoughts on this matter over the weekend.

In his reply to his thoughts on her death, Nigel Lythgoe said it was both “stupid” and “very sad” that the world has lost too many very talented singers and musicians at the tender age of 27. He does not in any means try to insult Amy Winehouse in any way, just pointing out that how terrible and tragic an addiction is and how it has taken many lives of very talented people who have graced this earth.

Russell Brand has written a very touching tribute to Amy Winehouse that he penned on the internet. He writes that the government should help addicts more and stop treating them like criminals, maybe that would help them get the help they need.

Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London home Saturday, July 23rd at the age of 27. She had canceled her European tour due to a battle she has had with drugs and alcohol. She is survived by her parents and the music world who lost her way too early.
