Fresh off her Marc Anthony divorce news, Jennifer Lopez is making news of another kind. As she gets closer to finalizing a deal with American Idol to return for season 11, reports are now saying she could hit the jackpot with a $34.3 million deal. Read on for the details…
Everyone wants to know — will Jennifer Lopez return to judge American Idol season 11? If she does, the word is she’ll land a $34.3 million deal. That’s a pretty sweet sum to judge Fox’s hit musical talent show.
Jennifer Lopez has been coy about her return to American Idol, which has been overshadowed by her divorce from Marc Anthony, but always seems to creep back into the news. Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson have already committed to returning, so all that’s left to do is have JLo sign on the dotted line.
Cecile Frot-Coutaz, chief executive officer at FremantleMedia North America, the company behind producing America Idol, recently said of the show, “We’re in good shape. No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon.”
Do we take comfort in her optimism? Maybe, but Jennifer Lopez needs to put this story to bed and just tell us. She’s recently been quoted as “on the fence” and even messed with us when she revealed she had a big announcement, which turned out to be her part in the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
The new figure of $34.3 million, which is said to be what the hold up, is either a huge deal to get her to stay from the American Idol folks or demands made on her own. While we’re not sure exactly which team drummed up the sum, we’re sure if it goes through she’ll be worth every penny.
Do you think Jennifer Lopez deserves $34.3 million to judge American Idol? Tell us, we want to know.
