Russell Hantz. You say his name and it immediately draws an instant reaction on both sides of the spectrum from all Survivor fans. Love him or hate him, Russell definitely left a major mark on Survivor during the three times he tried to win the $1 million prize. Although he’s never won the game, Russell claimed he was done playing for good after he became the second person eliminated from Survivor: Redemption Island. But just because he’s done doesn’t mean the Hantz family name has fizzled out of Survivor. There’s a widespread rumor that one of his own family members is a contestant on Survivor: South Pacific! Read on for more details!
Numerous reality television sites and fan pages are speculating that Russell’s nephew, Brandon Hantz, is one of the 16 new players on Survivor: South Pacific facing off against a pair of veterans (rumored to be Benjamin “Coach” Wade and Ozzy Lusth). The speculation started when a person known for offering legit Survivor spoilers listed Brandon as one of the new castaways. This spoiler lists Brandon as a 20-year-old married man from Houston, Texas. It also says he works at Hantz Tankering. Ring a bell yet?
Keep in mind, this is all simply speculation at this point since CBS has not yet made the official cast announcement, which should happen within the next few weeks (the announcement of last fall’s Survivor: Nicaragua cast came on August 9).
