Last night we watched as the third set of 12 acts in the top 48 took the stage on America’s Got Talent on NBC. Tonight the results went live, advancing four more acts into the semifinals. Oh, and there was a kick-ass performance by Stevie Nicks. Read on to find out why danger and singers ruled the show.
America’s Got Talent is almost done weeding through its top 48 and tonight another set of four advanced. Last night was not the most exciting night for talent, so let’s get right to who moved on. Once you see the results you’ll be wondering if America had a love affair with danger and singers when they voted.
The first two acts to grab a spot in the America’s Got Talent semifinals were Poplyfe and Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. Poplyfe hit the AGT stage with a funky version of Adele’s Rolling In The Deep and it wasn’t hard to tell the group would move through. Landau Eugene Murphy Jr was a different story. He’s no doubt got a set of pipes, but his voice sounds dated, which made us think America might pass him over. Obviously, we were wrong.
The third act to move on was an interesting choice — because it was opera-based. Opera singer with a twist, Lys Agnes, proved opera can be sexy and soulful. We’re just not sure how she can keep our attention now that she’s moved on.
The last act to snag a spot in the semifinals was the crazy and insane Professor Splash. This guy’s death-defying leap into a shallow pool of water blew up the Internet, but he still had to get a judges’ pick to make it through. Maybe America saw him as too dangerous.
As if putting four acts through wasn’t enough to get us excited, the legendary Stevie Nicks took the stage, performing her new hit For What It’s Worth and the classic song Edge Of Seventeen.
See, danger and singers. One high diver, an opera singer, a singing group and a crooner made it to the next round. What did you think of this week’s America’s Got Talent?
