Expedition Impossible Recap: Team No Limits Is Taken To The Limits

July 28, 2011 07:38 PM by Megan Thompson

Eight teams are still battling it out in the desert in this week’s Expedition Impossible. Will the Gypsies be able to come back from their team’s injury? Plus, Erik from Team No Limits, is stretched to the limits on the dangerous challenges. Keep reading to find out how Erik conquers kayaking and jumping off a cliff blind!

Stage Six of The Competition:
The Gypsies are disappointed that they came in second place and are worried about how John’s ankle injury will affect them. The host announces the day’s journey ahead of the contestants. The teams will work their way through the desert on this one day journey. For a change, Fab 3 is the first team to begin the race and the remaining teams are released in the order they finished the last race.

The first part of the course is wading through the river until they reach the first clue. Fab 3 is first to reach the clue. The teams must now search through hundreds of carpets to find one with five holes in it. The holes, when held up to a sign, will reveal the next clue. Fab 3 is overwhelmed by the amount of rugs. The Football Players are able to catch up at the rug challenge. The Football Players are lucky and find the rug right away, moving them to first place. The California Girls and The Fisherman are last to arrive at the rug challenge. Team No Limits is able to find a rug quickly, moving them into second place. Fab 3, who was the first to the rug challenge, is now the last team looking for their clue! Lucky to for Fab 3, Team Fisherman doesn’t understand they have to hold their rug up to a sign to figure out where to go next.

After the rug challenge the teams must now trek two miles to the waterfalls. The Football Players run to the falls. While, Jeff from Team No Limits has to guide Erik down hundreds of steps. Erik is truly an inspiration to others the way he tackles these challenges! The Football Players get to the next clue first. There are two options for the next challenge. For a faster route, teams can jump off a cliff or they can choose to take a slower repel down the rocks. All teams decide to jump off the cliff! Jeff leads Erik out to the edge of the cliff, so they can both jump at the same time. Talk about trust!

Teams must now zip line over rocks to reach their next set of instructions. Teams then need to unlock paddles. To unlock the paddles the teams must find the matching symbol that appears on the lock. The matching symbol keys are in a nearby cave. For the first time of the day, The Gypsies take first place. The Cops are the only team to choose the wrong key and now must waste time having to swim back to find the correct key.

Next on the adventure, the teams must kayak four and half miles down treacherous waters. This water is no joke! Team Football Players keep falling out into the water. Erik enters the kayak and I’m nervous for him. I have no clue how you would navigate this water blind! Fab 3 does great on the kayak portion of the trip and starts to catch up to the lead teams. At one point, Erik’s boat flips and he is swimming towards Jeff’s voice. This guy is either really brave or completely nuts, maybe a little bit of both. I can’t stop rooting for him! Erik gets back in his kayak and keeps on moving down the water. The Fishermen are now in last place.

The Gypsies are first off the kayaks and head to the next clue. The clue tells the team to look outward in the distance to spot the finish line. To get to the finish line the teams must paddle another mile and climb 300 feet to the flags. The Gypsies regain first place, they have now won five out of six stages! Fab 3 finishes second and No Limits finishes third! The Fishermen are determined to catch the two teams in front of them. It is going to be an endurance race for these three teams. Unfortunately, for the Fishermen they just couldn’t pass the two teams running up the hill. The Fishermen fought hard, but their expedition has come to an end.

Below is the breakdown of the teams and how they finished in the sixth leg of the race.
The Gypsies: John Post ,Taylor Filasky, Eric Bach

I love The Gypsies just because they seem pretty laid back. They seem like they are honestly enjoying this and it plays a role in how well they are doing. I think it’s funny how they always take the time to comment on how beautiful stuff is. I also like that they gave up the chance to see a video from their family at home to another team.
