We know, looking at the moment where Ben Flajnik was rejected by Ashley Hebert on the season finale of The Bachelorette is heartbreaking, but there’s no need to worry about Ben — he’s doing fine. Read on to find out what he told Chris Harrison on the After The Final Rose special and why he’s thanking Ashley Hebert…
Ben Flajnik’s anger was justified when Ashley Hebert turned down his proposal on The Bachelorette in favor of JP Rosenbaum. He told Chris Harrison after watching the moment back on the After The Final Rose special, ”It’s difficult to watch. When you’re going through the whole proposal, you’re almost kind of blacked out and instinct takes over. All I remember from that day is me being down on one knee and her saying no, and having the courage to stand up. That was the hardest part: Getting back up.” Ben Flajnik added, ”I was in love with her. It takes a lot for me to fall in love.”
Ben shocked Ashley and a lot of fans when his normally fun and sweet demeanor turned angry after his proposal fell short. After leaving Ashley with little words, he walked away telling her, “You can’t leave something like this on good terms. It’s not possible. Good things don’t end unless they end badly.”
After coming face-to-face for the first time since Fiji on the After The Final Rose special, Ashley said of Ben’s anger, “To know I was the one who was causing that type of pain to somebody was hard. I felt anger [from you] and I’d never felt that. In the moment, I was surprised, but watching it back, I completely understand.”
So, does the wine maker and winner of best hair of the season still feel that way today? While he might still be hurting over losing the woman he fell in love with, he’s actually happy he met her. “I lost a little bit of dignity, that’s what it was. I couldn’t have gotten to where I was without [Ashley], so for that I thank you,” he said.
He even added, “Having gone through something like [finding love on The Bachelorette], that’s so special, I’d like to feel that again, but only time will tell.”
We’re on the fence over what to believe in regards to the buzz he’s dating Brad Womack cast-off Britt Billmaier. Life & Style is reporting a source revealed, “They both live in the same town, so that’s how they met. They’re having fun together. He’s definitely not wallowing over the break-up with Ashley.”
On the other hand, Britt has been denying the reports she’s dating him and nothing was mentioned by Ben himself during After The Final Rose. Maybe that’s because he might be on the next edition of The Bachelor. We guess only time will tell.
