Roseanne’s nuts has many meanings right now. The first being Roseanne Barr’s reality show on Lifetime, the second being her announcement she will run for president — don’t laugh, we’re serious! Read on for all the nutty details.
“You know, Jay, I decided that since you’re the one that got Arnold Schwarzenegger elected as governor of California, that I wanted to make my announcement here on your show because I really wanted to ask for your support,” the Roseanne’s Nuts star told host Jay Leno.
The star went on, “My announcement is that I am running for president of the United States.”
Okay, we’ll give you a minute to get up off of the floor before telling you she said, “I’m totally serious. Cause I want to be a part of the debates, because I want to represent the tax payer. In fact, I’m choosing the tax payers as my vice president.”
If you’re wondering what prompted the 58-year-old star to come to this decision, we’ll stop you right — it’s not what, it’s whom — and that whom is Sarah Palin.
“It’s because of her that I decided to do a reality show,” she said. “That’s kinda what got me thinking that I too should run for president, if she can… I feel like she’s stealing my act anyway!”
“I’m not for [Democrats or Republicans] because they both suck and they’re a bunch of criminals,” Barr said of the parties. She’s going with her own made up party, the “American Green Tea Party.”
Watch Roseanne make her big announcement…
After all the chatter, Roseanne Barr wanted to make sure everyone understood this was not a joke. She tweeted she was “serious” and she wants to run “so I can speak on behalf of the taxpayers of this country who are dissed to the max.”
Who do you think would make a good vice president for Roseanne Barr? Sound off in the comments section.
