Scotty McCreery vs Lauren Alaina In The Debut Music Video Showdown!

August 10, 2011 07:00 AM by Kristin Watson

We love American Idol’s Scotty McCreey this big (opens arms wide) and we can’t wait to show you his video debut for I love You This Big. But wait, that’s not all. Lauren Alaina has also debuted a music video. Read on to see the videos…

When season 10 American Idol winner Scotty McCreery holds his mic to the side and cocks his head we swoon. We can only imagine what he’d do in a video! Wait, we don’t have to wonder because he has dropped the video for I love You This Big.

We’ve loved the song I love You This Big since he debuted it on the American Idol season 10 finale. It has such a warm message that reaches everyone from moms to lovers and we hope the fans are as receptive to the visual interpretation as they are the song.

McCreery didn’t need the crazy fireworks of technology to make this video soar. It’s a simple song, so the simplicity of a backyard with friends and family was the perfect choice.

Now it’s time for some Lauren Alaina love. The American Idol runner-up debuted her video for the song Like My Mother Does. Even a grinch would fall in love with this classic song about a daughter’s tribute to her mom.

There is no way you can’t shed a tear when listening to this song or watching the video. She looks fantastic paying homage to her mom!

It’s time to weigh in! Which video did you go nuts for — Scotty McCreery’s or Lauren Alaina’s?

We still think these country cuties would make the perfect pair! Okay, we won’t start that rumor again.

After reviewing their debut music videos, no doubt that Lauren Alaina has the edge to go big in her career. She has proven herself that she is more than capable, which i failed to see that coming from her throughout the American Idol Season 10. Now, i am truly and surprisingly impressed by her. Looking forward to her album especially her rendition of “Georgia Peaches” co written by Blair Daly, Mallary Hope and Rachel Proctor. Take note that Rachel Proctor tweeted Lauren Alaina that the debut music video “Like my mother does” was impressive and can’t wait to hear her singing the song “Georgia Peaches”. I do agree and well done to Lauren Alaina !

This is a much better video than Scotty’s. As much I a love Scotty and do believe he will continue to grow as an artist and provide us with wonderful music…Lauren Alaina has the edge in this “competition”. I predict both will fly.

Who on earth thinks Scotty’s song I Love You This Big is a great song? And the video is anything but perfect. The backyard BBQ with a bunch of over make up girls and a family picnic 4th of July sort of thing and he’s singing about someone he loves “this big”. The editing was horrendous. The photography was warm and flattering…but the direction was terrible. A better idea would have been to put him in something more upbeat…like Gone. Something with a little more coolness factor. He’s cute and get’s the girls…bring out a little more of his self effacing edge.

Like my mother does has always struck me as better song than ILYTB. But AI always favored Lauren. So Scotty had done as much possible with bad song..I don’t think Lauren could make bad song sound good..Regardless, I rather hear Scotty sing bad song over Lauren singing good song any day. I don’t think Lauren will go as far as some think. After all the media support is gone, I think Lauren’s career will take sharp decline…it will be Scotty who can stand on talent alone. Lauren’s personality turns off more people than many realize….
