Last week on Fox‘s Masterchef, we said goodbye to fan favorite Ben Starr. Tonight, the final three were revealed in the battle of the technique, as it all came down to a perfect pie. Who made it into the final three? Read on to find out!
Masterchef kicked off tonight with another team challenge, and this week Suzy had the luxury of choosing her partner – so, not only was she choosing her team, but ultimately choosing the other team as well. Suzy decided to go with Christian claiming that he was strong but in the end she “knew she could beat him.” Jennifer and Adrien were both happy with that and glad they were not chosen by Suzy. For their challenge this time, Gordon Ramsay announced that they would need to create a dish that would proudly show off America, as he was flying in three guest judges for this challenge.
For this challenge on Masterchef, Adrien and Jennifer decided to go with a lobster and prawn dish since they each showed off a different coast of the United States. Meanwhile, Suzy and Christian were wasting time deciding on what to do, but Suzy was dead set on serving a gourmet twisted Thanksgiving dinner, using duck instead of turkey. Christian did not like the idea, but eventually thought because he and Suzy were both such great cooks, that they could have made it work in their favor.
Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot were amazed at how differently these teams worked together, with Jennifer and Adrien in complete harmony, and Christian and Suzy in disarray. Both teams managed to pull off their dishes to the best of their abilities, and Gordon announced that they would be feeding not only the normal three judges, but three judges from different international Masterchef’s as well. Joining the panel tonight was a judge from Masterchef France, one from Masterchef India and the last one from Masterchef Israel.
The judges, more specifically Joe Bastianiach, seemed a bit annoyed with Christian and Suzy’s Thanksgiving dinner, and he told them that he thought it was a disgrace to serve the international judges that, despite that it did taste good. Jennifer and Adrien’s dish got some mixed reviews, but the judges were annoyed that the prawns were not cleaned properly. In the end, the judges announced that their unanimous decision was that Adrien and Jennifer’s dish was the best, giving them the win and a spot in the semi-finals!
That meant that Suzy and Christian would be going head to head in the pressure challenge to see who would earn that final spot in the top three. For their pressure test this week, they would be making a lemon meringue pie – just what Christian loved to do – bake! Christian was irritated that he was stuck with a baking challenge, but Suzy was overjoyed and thought she had it in the bag. After their time was up and it was time to taste, both pies had some issues. Christian’s looked great but the meringue was not done right, while Suzy’s crust was not done and it looked like a big mess.
In the end, the judges decided that Suzy’s time on Masterchef was over, and she would be heading home after the battle of the technique. That means that Christian, Jennifer and Adrien will all be moving on for one more round before two of them head to the finale. Who is going to take it all? Masterchef is all new with 2 hours tomorrow night, and we will find out who will take the crown! Who are you rooting for?
