Last night on Fox‘s Masterchef, Jennifer Behm walked away with the season two crown as her braised quail amazed the judges. Today, we had a chance to chat with Jennifer, who said she is still on cloud nine. Read on to hear what else she had to say!
Masterchef on Fox ended the second season as we watched Jennifer Behm walk away with $250,000 and the Masterchef title last night, but how does Jennifer feel now that’s over? We had the chance to speak with her today and she is still on cloud nine. In our exclusive interview, Jennifer dished on the season, her feud with Christian, and the finale. Check it out below!
RTVM: Congratulations Jennifer! How does it feel?
Jennifer Behm: I am still on cloud nine, it’s unbelievable. It was the most amazing feeling ever.
RTVM: Did you think that you would be crowned the winner last night?
Jennifer Behm: I went in determined and focused, but I also went in feeling like I would be okay either way. I have the utmost respect for Adrien – he was a great competitor and an amazing cook. I was at a place in my mind last night where I really wanted to win, but I would have been happy for Adrien if he won as well.
RTVM: Were you hoping to go head to head with Christian in the finale?
Jennifer Behm: You know, I would have been happy beating him in either the finale or with the three of us left. There was no way I was going to let him win.
RTVM: You two had been feuding all season, was he really as arrogant as he came off?
Jennifer Behm: I wish I could say that he wasn’t, but what you saw was all Christian. That was Christian on the camera and off the camera, unfortunately.
RTVM: Do you think Christian’s attitude got him eliminated?
Jennifer Behm: I think Ben Starr showed it the best, how we carry over into our dishes. His demeanor translated into his food. Don’t get me wrong, Christian was talented, but when you are that into yourself, you can only go so far.
RTVM: Was there ever a time during the competition when you thought it may be your time for elimination?
Jennifer Behm: Oh yes. When Tony and I were standing there I was certain it would be me. I just kept thinking that I did everything I possibly could and if I went home I would be okay.
RTVM: What did you learn from the competition?
Jennifer Behm: That you need a plan. I am a realtor, so I went in there thinking I was going in with the frame of the house and I would allow them to give me the bricks and mortar. Then I learned I needed to have a back up plan, and another back up plan, and another, just in case.
RTVM: What are your thoughts on Gordon Ramsay?
Jennifer Behm: Oh my gosh….he is a master at his craft. To learn, watch and absorb from him, I mean, the education alone was amazing. He would challenge us to be better and do the best we could, and I cannot say enough about him.
RTVM: Your quail recipe looked delicious last night, can we have the recipe?
Jennifer Behm: You know, I just thought that I liked those flavors and I threw it all together. The culinary team was amazing with the stuffing tool, and it came out amazing. The recipe will definitely be in my cookbook.
RTVM: What are your plans for the $250,000.00?
Jennifer Behm: I am investing in my niece and nephew’s education first and foremost. I also just started my own catering business called “Pink Market Catering.” I will be doing cookbooks, and hope to pitch some networks for a cooking show.
RTVM: Where can your fans keep up with you?
Jennifer Behm: I am on both Facebook and Twitter. My website will be up and running in a few days and that address is Jennybehm.com.
Congratulations to Jennifer Behm, and thank you for taking the time to chat with us today!
