When a tragedy like Russell Armstrong’s suicide happens, there’s bound to be grief and blame. In a new report, Russell Armstrong’s mom, John Ann Hotchkiss, is putting Bravo under attack.
With The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills set to premiere, Hotchkiss said in an interview with HLN on Wednesday, Russell was “anxious” for the new season based on his belief of the show’s criticism towards him.
“‘Mom, they’re just going to crucify me this season,’” John Ann Hotchkiss said her son recently told her. She added Russell said, “‘I don’t know what to do. I’ll never survive it.’”
Hotchkiss believed he “meant business-wise.” John Ann Hotchkiss said Russell Armstrong’s marriage to Taylor Armstrong suffered because of the show and the other cast mates constant criticism.
“The bashing got so bad last season I had to stop watching. I just couldn’t bear it. I said, ‘Russell can’t you stop this?’”
Hotchkiss said during the interview that, “He said, ‘No. All the network cares about are ratings. They don’t care if people are hurt, or if it destroys their marriage.’ And I watched it slowly destroy their marriage.”
Russell Armstrong’s death has officially been ruled a suicide by the coroner. At this time, Bravo has remained quiet on Hotchkiss’ interview but Andy Cohen did say the network was in the midst of deciding what to do about the new season at this time.
