Big Brother 13 Recap: The Tides Have Turned

August 21, 2011 06:34 PM by Ryan Haidet

Tonight’s episode of Big Brother 13 began right where it left off last Thursday.  The contestants were battling it out for the power of Head of Household in a slippery race.  As they each fought to fill up a glass bowl by walking back and forth on the slick path, it was like watching America’s Funniest Home Videos since everybody kept falling down.  Who won the challenge and who has been nominated for eviction?  Read on to find out!

The New HoH

Although Daniele was cheering for Kalia on the sidelines, it didn’t help much.  She kept sliding more behind as Jeff eventually pulled ahead and claimed victory after one hour and 38 minutes.  With that, he became the first man to win HoH this summer.  “This is a critical week, so I can’t be happier,” he said in the Diary Room.

Later on, after Jeff showed everybody his HoH bedroom, Rachel was the only person who stuck around when the rest of the houseguests walked out.  This simply pissed Shelly off who was quickly becoming tired of Rachel and her phony attitude.  So she rushed back upstairs and called Rachel out for always making dirty faces at her.  After Rachel denied being nasty toward her, Shelly asked for a clean slate so they could build a stronger alliance.  When the dust settled, Jeff was shocked that Rachel kept herself under control.

On The Opposite Side

In addition to slop for the week, America voted for the Have-Nots to eat hard-boiled eggs and jalapenos this week.  But there wasn’t a Have vs. Have-Nots competition.  Instead, Jeff was given the duty of selecting three people to be Have-Nots for the week.  He quickly (and easily) chose Daniele, Kalia and Porsche.

As one would expect, Kalia, Porsche and Daniele all talked strategy with Jeff in hopes that he wouldn’t target them for eviction this week.  I do have to give Jeff credit for the way he handled it all.  He was very blunt with Kalia and told her that she was likely going to be one of the nominees this week — especially since she nominated him a few weeks back.  As far as Porsche was concerned, he told her that she needed to step up and start playing the game since that was the first time in 49 days she tried to talk strategy with him.

With Daniele, Jeff told her that the deal they made was sealed.  He told her it was all still good although he admitted in the Diary Room that he has plans to backdoor her this week.  When he asked her what she would do if she would win the Power of Veto this week, Daniele said she would considering losing it on purpose.

Nominations Announced

At the Nomination Ceremony, it was revealed that Jeff selected to put Kalia and Porsche on the chopping block this week.  He said the reasoning was simple — with only eight people left in the game, he wanted to see them finally step up to play.  Then in the Diary Room, he made it clear that his plan is to backdoor Daniele this week.

Who will win the PoV and will they use it to spare somebody from elimination?  Who do you hope goes home this week during the special double eviction episode?  Sound off and leave a comment below!

If you watch the live feeds or After Dark, you will see how this is the “JEFF and his sheep” show.
DANI is the ONLY one who TRIES to play hard and of course the sheep will vote her out on Jeff’s command.
Rachel’s just a rude drunk who is a coward. She is SO FAKE!! No idea why she is back on this show. She and her ‘man’ need to go away. She’s trying so hard to get BB to pay for their wedding, it seems. She drops enough hints and cries like a two year old when she does not get her way. RACHEL IS SO JEALOUS OF DANI AND CASSI, because they are pretty and REAL, not FAKE like her.
The REST of the cast just follow Jeff like they want to hand him the money. I have NO idea why the rest of the cast are there, except to hand Jeff the money.
Jordan can’t even think for herself, she has to ask Jeff if she can speak. Guess he needs a girl without a mind of her own for his girlfriend, since a WOMAN would tell him to stick it..He can order everyone around and they all just shake with fear, including Jordan.
DANI is the only one with any FIGHT IN HER, so of course Jeff wants her GONE..and his sheep will do the job.
SHELLY is nice but is she there to just help Jeff or Jordan win the money?? Same for Adam and the other girls. They all act like they are star struck by Jeff…. BORING TO WATCH!
Waste of time and money for feeds this year.

Why are you going after Jeff and Jordan? If Dani had kept up with the original five, they would have had a chance as the final five. Please do not be a hypocrite. They are just playing the game the way they want. period.

I hate, hate, hate Big Brother this year. I have stopped watching most of it and keep up by the recrappers. Actually it is no longer the Big Brother Show, it is the Big Jeff Show. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next twist in the game was Jeff wouldn’t have to sit out the next HOH competition, that way he could play to have another week of safety. Absolutely every twist, etc this season has all benefited Big Jeff. I don’t know why Allison Grodner even bothered wasting viewers time on all of this, they should just have given Jeff the cheque on the first day and sent everyone home. By the way, I used to be a Jeff and Jordan fan. I still like Jordan, but Big Jeff has turned into this self-righteous, a$$hole who thinks he is entitled to have everything handed to him on a gold platter. Sick of him thinking everyone should bow and scrape at his feet like he was some kind of god. I have reached a point with his arrogance that I would rather Rachel win than him.

Are you kidding me! Bravo to Jeff. He is finally playing the game the way he should have all along. As I recall Danielle was the first to brake the original agreement. If she was not such a back stabbing little witch things would be different!
