MTV’s Video Music Awards are set to air tonight at 9 pm, and if you haven’t heard the news, MTV is planning a star studded tribute to the late Amy Winehouse, which will kick off with Tony Bennett. Tony Bennett recorded a jazz duet titled “Body And Soul” with Amy Winehouse shortly before her passing in July, and now Tony is set to perform the tune tonight, leading the tribute to Winehouse.
Tony Bennett, who will release the song on his upcoming album, said: “It was a thrill to record with Amy Winehouse, and when you listen to the recording of Body And Soul, it is a testament to her artistic genius and her brilliance as one of the most honest musicians I have ever known.” MTV will also air unseen footage during the tribute of Amy Winehouse’s recording sessions with Tony Bennett. Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Adele, Bruno Mars and Lil Wayne are all set to take the stage tonight at the VMA’s.
