Last week on Hell’s Kitchen on Fox we watched half of the drama duo hit the road. Tonight, when the remaining contestants attempt to tackle a black tie charity event, will the other half of the drama be sent packing? Who earned the coveted black jackets? Read on to find out!
Hell’s Kitchen kicked off tonight with Elise running her mouth as usual about what a threat she is, and then Elizabeth vowed not get panicky again this week – we’ll see if she can master that. Then it’s off to meet with Gordon Ramsay, who announced that the challenge would be three dishes, one cooked from each team in 30 minutes, one cooked in 20 minutes and one cooked in 10 minutes. The teams chose who would do what time limit for each team. Jennifer chose to go with the 30 minute dish because she wanted time to think it over, and her team mates wouldn’t shut up for 5 minutes to give her that thinking time.
In the blue kitchen, Tommy took on the 30 minutes for obvious reasons. When it was time for tasting it was Tommy’s lamb with quail eggs, while Jennifer also did a lamb dish, that she thought was rare and told Gordon so, but when he cut into it, it was perfectly cooked. Jennifer won the first dish challenge, giving the red team a point. For the 20 minute dishes, Paul presented Gordon Ramsay with a delicious and beautiful sea bass, while Elizabeth did a monkfish, also cooked perfectly, but the point went to Paul and the blue team. For the ten minute challenge, Elise presented a calamari dish that tasted good, although the calamari was overcooked, while Will presented a prawn dish that was cooked perfectly, but was over seasoned.
Gordon Ramsay decided that the third point should go to the blue team! For winning the challenge, the blue team got to go on a shopping spree, while the ladies were stuck cleaning and prepping. Gordon Ramsay announced that dinner service would be a black tie charity event for both The American Cancer Society and The American Human Association tonight. After telling the contestants how important this event was, Gordon Ramsay also announced that after the service, 5 of the remaining 6 contestants would be getting black jackets!
For the charity event, each one of the team members had to run the kitchen for one course, with the red team serving The American Cancer Society donators, while the blue were serving The American Humane Association. Dinner service was the usual nightmare on Hell’s Kitchen, with Elizabeth unable to guide the team at all, and Tommy having his usual spacey issues. Meanwhile, Jennifer thought that Elise and Elizabeth were trying to sabotage her. When Elise tried to passing off raw apples on her, Jennifer thought it was revenge for a mistake she made earlier.
The red team just continued to unravel as Jennifer and Elise got into a confrontation during the service, leaving Gordon Ramsay shaking his head. The blue ended by pulling their team together, and the three of them ended up with black jackets. The red team, however, were up for elimination for having the poorer performance. Elise and Jennifer got into another confrontation at the elimination line, while Gordon once again just sat back, listened and shook his head.
Finally, Gordon shut them up and asked each one to plea as to why they belonged in Hell’s Kitchen. Gordon Ramsay called Jennifer up, and asked her to take off her jacket, leaving Jennifer in tears. But then, he handed Jennifer a black jacket! In the end, Gordon Ramsay felt that Elizabeth was not worthy of a black jacket, and he gave the last one to Elise, much to most of our dismay – will it ever end?
