Ron Artest Plans To Donate All Money Earned On Dancing With The Stars To Cancer Research In Honor Of His Daughter

Last night we learned that Ron Artest would be a part of the celebrity cast for season 13 of Dancing With The Stars on ABC. In an interview Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers player said he will be donating all the money he earns to cancer research in honor of his daughter. Read on for more!
Los Angeles Lakers player, Ron Artest has concerns over how well his moves will be on Dancing With The Stars, as he struggled with the decision to sign on to the series. As it turned out, his 8-year-old daughter Diamond convinced him that he could do it. After his daughter convinced him that it would be fun, Ron Artest stated that he would be donating all the money he earns to cancer research in his daughter’s honor as he told reporters: “That’s the only reason I’m doing it. I’m doing it for a cause.”
In 2007, when Ron Artest’s daughter Diamond was only 4 years old, she was diagnosed with with wilms tumor, which is a kidney cancer that affects children, but she has successfully fought it. No matter how far he gets in the series, he will be guaranteed $125,000.00 for his first episode, which will be donated along with any additional money he earns should he advance in the series.
While chatting about his daughter and his plans to donate the money, Ron Artest also shared a little spoiler as he added: “I’m doing the Cha-cha-cha my first week. We’re going to get past [the first round]. I want to work hard and see where it takes me. I don’t know how far I’m going to go, but I’m going to try.”
